Former Grimsley HS coach and teacher and recent North Carolina Coaches Association office manager Lynda Tamblyn died on Saturday

GREENSBORO– Lynda L. Tamblyn, who had worked for many years in the offices of the North Carolina Coaches Association after a successful career as a teacher and coach, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 10.

She was a teacher and coach in the Guilford County school system for over 30 years, guiding her team to a state championship while coaching women’s tennis at Grimsley. She also coached men’s tennis and women’s basketball at Grimsley.

Linda was a lifetime member of the Coaches Association and had served as office manager in the NCCA offices since 1990. She was also a recipient of the NCHSAA Special Person’s Award.

The memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church on West Market Street in Greensboro.

  1. I hate to hear this. Lynda was first class. She did a great job both as a coach and at the Coaches Association office.
