High School Basketball Tonight for 12/9/14(Tuesday)

Full Tuesday night slate down below the Monday cap….
from Monday night:McMichael boys 76, Reidsville 61….Vandalia Christian boys 66, Union Grove 40…Vandalia Christian girls 58, Union Grove 12…
Strong scoring from Monday night from Da’Kyrian Brown(McMichael) with 24, Khalil(Reidsville) with 22, Deondre Moore(McMichael) with 20, Bryson Gordon(Vandalia) with 18, Darian Lowe(McMichael) with 16, Tyler Peretiatko(Vandalia) with 15 and Noah Dunn(Vandalia) with 13 points….

Smith at Lee County 6pm
Greensboro Day School at Cannon School 4:30pm…Both the Greensboro Day boys and girls are running strong here early in the season and the boys have all of their veteran suspects and they have some young guns in John Newman and Pearce Landry that the basketball neighborhood need to used to seeing too…GDS girls might be gearing up for the Haeco Tournament….
New Garden Friends at Wesleyan 6pm…..Wesleyan is off to such a good start on the boys side, you know this is going to draw a crowd every time the Trojans take the court….Bears maybe not quite as strong as last season, but they will give you a game, every time they suit up…
Northwest Guilford at Southern Alamance 6pm…..Thinking the SA Patriot girls should be down a bit after losing Shay Burnett to Elon and the SA boys are on the way up under new head coach Marty Parrish, but it will be tough for SA to past the NWG boys, they have some of the best guards and perimeter players in the state right now and the NWG girls are just like the NWG boys, they are both Unbeaten….
Eastern Guilford at Northeast Guilford 6pm….The first name that comes to mind when we dig into this game is Quayson Williams from Eastern Guilford…Always a big battle when you have these two schools together in any sport…NEG girls are showing steady improvement and Coach Britton sure did a very good job with the EG girls last season in her first year as the Wildcats coach..
Page at Northern Guilford 6pm…On both ends, the girls and the boys, this could be what the old coach might call a couple of toss-ups going and there will be at least two toss-ups out there tonight, one to start the girls game and one to begin the boys game…Page girls are still looking to find their true identity and the Pirate boys are looking into that same mirror trying to find themselves….Both the NG boys and NG girls have size in the post and we have to wait and see if the they can exploit that post power tonight with Gibson, Emerick and Hildreth boys and Cunnane in the lane for the ladies from NG…
Southwest Guilford at High Point Andrews 6pm….SWG has one of the High Point schools coming up soon at HPU, but I think that game may be coming around a little later on in December, but the SWG boys have really come around the past couple of years under the leadership of Guy Shavers and assistant coach Greg Vlazny and with KJ Langley, Kam Langley, Ben Ferguson, Kaymon Mitchell and other Cowboys, this is a team that can make a difference….NWG-SWG might be the ‘cut-to-the-chase’ game in the Piedmont Triad 4-A Conference….Both men’s teams have the talent, but is NWG just a bit deeper this year? We will have to wait and see….
Southeast Guilford at Ragsdale 6pm….Could see these games split wide-open with the SEG girls going to town/Jamestown and the Ragsdale boys going to town/Jamestown….SEG girls have a balanced group so far this season and the Ragsdale boys seem to have too much for the Falcon men….The Ragsdale boys have been up and down, but this might be their up night, this evening at home…
Southern Guilford at Trinity 6pm…Coach Evan Fancourt vs. Coach Tim Kelly….Talk about looking at two ends of the coaching spectrum…Coach Fancourt taking the court as a head high school coach for the first time this season and Coach Kelly having been in the business nearly 35 years….This is what makes the blood move…Not boil, but move and SG girls Coach William Whitaker has seen his blood pressure going up this year and he needs a win to assure that his next doctor’s visit won’t be an extended one….SG ladies need to step up for Coach Whit…Coach Fancourt will leave his mark tonight, no doubt about that….
Grimsley(5-0) at High Point Central has been listed but Grimsley went to HP Central last Wednesday and defeated the Bison 62-50…
The game on the docket according to MaxPreps will be WS Reynolds(5-0) at High Point Central(1-3)…Coach Billy Martin has the Demons off to a very good start…
That should most of the games for our public schools tonight and we have Greensboro Day in the top line highlighter and now we add in some of our area private school games and other public schools from the area and if you have more, send them in….
Burlington Christian School at the American Hebrew Academy 5pm
Asheboro at Randleman 6pm….
Rockingham County at McMichael 6pm….I think we saw this game listed somewhere last week too…
East Surry at Bishop McGuinness 6:30pm…
Burlington School at Westchester Country Day 7:30pm
Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill at Caldwell Academy

  1. Andy,

My Cowboys are loaded at the guard position also. It should be a hell of a game when they play Nwest!!

  2. Lots of ball to be played before NW/SW hook up in late Jan. NW should have a very good test tonight at SA, who has not lost yet.

  3. It’s going to be a good one at Southern Alamance tonight. Burnett, Forbes and Young have been lights out this season!

  4. Southern Alamance girls or boys have no chance against our mighty Viking! It does not matter if they had Burnett or not on the girls team from last year. GO VIKINGS!

  5. NWG, you don’t even believe that statement yourself.Shay Burnett and the lady patriots have beaten you for the last two years. Anyway, she’s gone now (lucky you), just had to address that ridiculous statement.

  6. I seriously doubt anyone will come within 20 pts of the NW girls this year from this area. Their big/paint girls are very good and NW has the best guards in the city. You can’t name even one team with our guard play. I will take the Vikings all day. This is our year.
