Game Report on Eastern Guilford-Eastern Alamance boys basketball:101-82 Eagles

Final:Eastern Alamance 101, Eastern Guilford 82
Eastern Guilford down 16-0 early, but battled back to cut the lead to 7 points in the first half and you had Quayson Williams and Tre McLean both going down with appeared to be cramps/strains and even if they would have been able to play all night long, it would have been hard to stop this Eastern Alamance steam-roller from Mebane, that invaded Gibsonville tonight/Wednesday….The high-scoring nature and the final score did not reflect the nature of this game, as EG was forced to foul and their press to try and get the ball back gave EA numerous opportunities and there were at least three technical fouls on EG down the stretch and that gave Eastern Alamance foul line visits where they were going 4-4 and Evans did that twice….

Eastern Guilford scoring:Quayson Williams 34 points…Tre McLean 29 points…Cotton 4, Lundy 4, Spencer 5, Cole 3, Evans 1 and Venable 1…

Eastern Alamance scoring:Mann 21, Reed 21, Evans 20, Summers 16, Lamot 10, Moore 8, Thompson 5…..

1st Q:EA 27, eg 15…Half:EA 46, EG 35…3rd Q:EA 69, EG 49….

EA now (7-0) Mid-State and EG(5-2)….

  1. Just to make something clear, the Technical fouls on Eastern Guilford were from frustration and were mainly delay of game type things that come from holding the ball after a made basket when the other teams scores(Eastern Alamance) there were a lot of quick baskets by both teams late in this game that allowed the score to balloon up and there were plenty of free throws on the part of Eastern Alamance that is to be sure…

EG made some good runs and cut into the score and got back in the game in the second period, but they would run out of gas and have to go re-load/fill-up again, and while they were doing that, Eastern Alamance would take off and leave EG behind…

First time I was able to see Tre McLean bust loose and he did that to help his team get back into the game and the kids from EA that really get your attention, outside of Lamot and Summers, who we had heard about already, were kids like Mann, Reed and Evans from EA….

EA has several key weapons that can score in many different ways…..
