FOREST, Va. – Six Guilford College students were named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) 2014 Fall Sportsmanship Teams in their respective sports, the league announced Thursday. The six Quakers recognized were:
– Freshman Caleb Anderson (Cranford, N.J./Academy for Allied Health Sciences) – Cross Country
– Sophomore McKenzie Clapp (Greensboro, N.C./Eastern Guilford ) – Volleyball
– Senior Marko Mandalinic (Lukavac, Bosnia and Herzegovina / Forsyth Country Day (N.C.)) – Men’s Soccer
– Senior Drew Milot (Summerfield, N.C./Northern Guilford) – Football
– Senior Pasangi Perera (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) – Cross Country
– Junior Caitlin Young (Raphine, Va./Rockbridge County) – Women’s Soccer
“I am pleased that the conference recognizes student-athletes for their focus on fair play and sportsmanship,” ODAC Commissioner Brad Bankston said. “The conference prides itself on positive sportsmanship and encouraging student-athletes to lead by example. Each one of the honorees has been selected by the coaches in recognition of their conduct in the arena. My hat is off to these student-athletes – thanking them for the example they set for all of us.”
This marks sixth year the ODAC has recognized student-athletes for sportsmanship. The league honored 75 athletes on the Spring Sportsmanship Teams.
