Ragsdale Track team finishing Winter Sessions fast and strong

This past Tuesday, at the JDL Fast track in Winston-Salem, Ragsdale’s Men’s and Women’s Indoor track teams won the Southwest Guilford Invitational #2. Other schools competing in the event included Northwest Guilford, Northern Guilford, Greensboro Page, Southwest Guilford, High Point Central, High Point Andrews, Eastern Guilford, Greensboro Grimsley, Greensboro Dudley, Greensboro Smith, Southern Guilford, and Southeast Guilford.

The Tigers are currently undefeated in all 5 invitational meets (12-17 teams at each meet); Ragsdale’s Men’s team is ranked #1 in the state across all divisions, while the Tiger Women’s team is ranked 5th in the state across all divisions.

The following Ragsdale athletes have qualified to compete in the State Championships, which will be held in Winston-Salem’s JDL Fast Track on February 14:
· Men-Thomas Neale 500; Braxton Boykin 500, Bryce Craig – shot put; Mark Bailey –shot put; Tevin Quick- high jump and long jump; and Joseph Popek- pole vault.
· Women-Bojo Jada- high jump; Ticoiya Gidderon 500; Charla Ward 55 and 300; Chesney Ward- pole vault; Alex Apple 1600 and 3200; Corbin McClean 55 hurdles; 4×400 relay (Rebecca Neale, Charla Ward, Chesney Ward and Ticoiya Gidderon); 4×200 (Charla and Chesney Ward, Corbin Mclean, Ticoiya Gidderon);
· National qualifiers: Charla Ward (#1 Nation) 300; Chesney Ward- pole vault; Tevin Quick- High jump and long jump; and Joseph Popek- pole vault.
