Update: Greg Anthony has been suspended indefinitely by CBS following his arrest on solicitation charges.
A CBS spokeswoman says “Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season.” Turner Sports also suspended the TV commentator and says it “will have no further comment.”
WASHINGTON — District of Columbia police say CBS basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony has been arrested and charged with soliciting a prostitute.
Lt. Kelvin Cusick tells The Associated Press that Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on Friday. He said Saturday that Anthony faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge that’s punishable by up to 180 days in jail.
Cusick says the 47-year-old Anthony was released Friday evening.
*****Greg Anthony was with ESPN from 2002-2008 and during his time with CBS he has worked as an studio analyst and college basketball game commentator…Anthony did the commentary on the N.C. State-Duke game this past Saturday in Raleigh and if you remember like I do, he continued to steer off course and he kept on calling the N.C. State Wolfpack, the “Wildcats”…I guess he had #1 Kentucky on his mind, but he was supposed to following the Wolfpack, not the Wildcats on that day…
Anthony was in the DC area preparing to announce the Maryland-Michigan State game on Saturday/today for CBS…
I still don’t understand why CBS keeps bringing in and going after all of these ESPN castoffs and misfits…..*****
