Graham Sporting Goods High School Basketball Tonight(1/30/15)

Lots of key games as we head down the stretch of the high school basketball season and we will be out at Northern Guilford this evening for the Northern Guilford-Eastern Guilford games with the girls game set for 6:30 and the boys ready to begin at around 8pm….JV boys at 5 to get all of the action under way.
We will carry both the girls and boys games here at GreensboroSports Radio with Dennis White on hand to help bring us the games and Don Moore will be on top of the GreensboroSports.com scoreboard…..Pre-game for the girls at around 6:15 and the game with the EG girls(9-2) in the Mid-State 3-A and NG girls(9-2) in the Mid-State 3-A goes at 6:30….Boys action has the Wildcats(16-3/9-2) taking on the Nighthawks, winners of eight straight games and at (9-2) in the Mid-State 3-A Conference and that game looks to tip at around 8pm….All four teams in tonight’s encounters at (9-2) in the Conference…..

Also on tap for tonight we have:
Smith at Dudley 6pm….Girls game was close early at Smith and the Panthers ran away with it and they should do the same tonight….Boys game won by Smith in a close one at Smith and the Golden Eagles have some injuries and that might just hurt their chances to pull off the sweep with a win at Dudley this evening….Tristan Scurlock down for the year for Smith and they have a few other nagging injuries that they must put aside if they hope to get on top against the Panthers…
Southeast Guilford at Page 6pm…Look for the girls game to be a close one since Page beat SEG at SEG and both teams are (4-1) in the conference….SEG girls with a big win over at Dudley back on Tuesday and they will want to carry that over to the Mac Morris Gym tonight…SEG beat Page at SEG last year and I think Page got the best of SEG at Page in girls action one year ago….Boys game will not be close at all, the running clock may come into play and it is what is and you have to with it….
Northwest at Ragsdale 6pm….The girls game will not be an issue, NWG has to be careful to play hard each game and to not “let their guards down” and this game might invoke the running clock, but the boys game could be a different story if we use East Forsyth as a measuring stick…Ragsdale by one over EF boys the other night and NWG struggled to get past EF back on Tuesday, so this might be embolic of what it means to tighten the reins as you hit that stretch run if you are NWG…Time to hit the rewind button and get back to basics of basketball life…
Southern Alamance at Grimsley 6pm…The Grimsley men have to settle the score with Southern Alamance if the Whirlies want to make a run at the #2 spot in the Metro behind Page….The girls game might just be a toss-up and Grimsley girls have a chance to win this one…The question for the Grimsley boys is “can they put together back-to-back strong games?”, with this looking to be a follow-up on what they did on Tuesday night versus Smith at home….Grimsley might be learning to win and we will find out tonight…
Southwest Guilford at Glenn 6pm…SWG boys have to keep the pedal to the metal and the gas tank on “F” if they want to get that “Winner Take All” meeting lined up for NWG, at NWG on Feb. 10…Right the edge is in the SWG boys corner since they have no conference losses at (6-0) and if they keep their noses to the ‘grindstone’, the title would be there’s…..
Northeast Guilford at Burlington Williams 6pm….Large game for the NEG girls, as they have found some punch and they might have a shot at the playoffs if they keep on doing what they have been doing for Coach Daryl Steele….Will this be the “Real Deal” for Steele???
Southern Guilford at Ledford 6pm….SG boys got a big win over North Forsyth last night and if you remember back to last year, North Forsyth was the top team in the conference with Kendrick Flomo as the Player of the Year…SG boys are growing and the SG girls have solid all year and the Miller kid had 26 points in loss, last time out….
High Point Andrews at Providence Grove 6pm….Might end up being time to keep the clock running in the girls here, as the HP Andrews women have called up their “inner self” and they are starting to look as tough this year, as they did last year…..
East Forsyth at High Point Central 6pm….The EF boys have lost two tough games over their last couple of contests and this might be the bring-it-back-around night that they have been looking for…Cones and Roberson should go to the hole and line often in this one….
Western Guilford at Asheboro 6pm….Hornets have been down and this might not be the “pick-me-up” that they have been looking for….

Some of our other games on the slate:
Calvary Baptist at Greensboro Day School…5:30 girls and boys at 7 and wanna bet the Bengal boys come back out and make a statement in this one after the loss at Davidson Day back on Tuesday?
Wesleyan Christian Academy at Forsyth Country Day 6pm….Trojans in a tune-up for next Tuesday’s games at GDS….
Vandalia Christian at Gospel Light in Walkertown 5:30pm….VCS boys have to have this game to have a good shot at a state title…Gospel Light is one of the current top NCCAA teams…
Caldwell Academy Boys (7-18) Home vs. Faith Christian, Roanoke VA (10-6), Faith has a 7’2” Sophomore, Brendan Newton that has been getting lots of attention. Caldwell Varsity Girls(19-6) vs. Faith Christian, Roanoke VA (7-8)….Both games at Caldwell with girls at 5:30 and boys at 7pm…
Faith Assembly at New Garden Friends School 6:30pm
McMichael at Morehead 6pm
Rockingham County at Western Alamance 6pm…RC are a very big factor in what happens in the Mid-State 3-A…
Bishop McGuinness at Winston-Salem Prep 6:15….The WS Prep girls and boys are both are handful….

Final:
Boys
Westchester Country Day 91, Salem Baptist 64 7pm
