Girls North Carolina Private School All-Star Game:Thorpe(GDS) and Riffe(HPCA) led East to victory:Boys win for the East, coached by Freddy Johnson(GDS)

In the boy’s game it was a 125-102 with the East over the West and the East had as their head coach, Freddy Johnson(Greensboro Day School).….(No details available on this game.)

The NC Private schools had their All-Star Game today/Saturday down in Charlotte at Providence Day. Tamera Thorpe from the Greensboro Day School and Hailey Riffe from High Point Christian Academy played with the East.

The East won 77-65.

Tamera Thorpe had 21 pts and Hailey Riffe had 14 pts hitting 4 3’s during the game. Thorpe was the starting point guard and Riffe was another starting guard. Both players were key to the East winning today.

Hailey Riffe received a lot of cheers and talk from the game announcer as she continued to hit 3 point after 3 point shots. Tamera Thorpe received a lot of fanfare and public announcer time while showing her ability to score from everywhere on the floor and demonstrating a high level of energy generating 5 steals, 0 turnovers and 8 assist to ago along with her game- high 21 points.

The All-Star Game does not award a MVP award but it was clear that Tamera Thorpe and Hailey Riffe were the crowd favorites today in Charlotte.

  1. This game will replay on TWC ch 323 tonight (Sunday) at 6pm and 9pm for the girls – followed by the boys game which was a 125-102 pt game won by the East (head coach Freddy Johnson GDS).
