HIGH POINT — Beau Myers went 3 for 3 with a homer, double, three RBIs and two runs as top-seeded Wesleyan Christian Academy clobbered fourth-seeded Christ School 10-3 in the NCISAA 3A semifinals on Tuesday at Ed Price Field.

Justin Olczak finished 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run for Wesleyan…

“It’s playoff baseball,” Wesleyan coach Scott Davis said. “Win and advance or lose and go home. I told the kids after the top of the first inning that we had plenty of time. We just needed to be aggressive and swing the bats well. The kids did that and I was pleased with the way we responded, particularly batting with runners in scoring position.”

  1. We mentioned some of those starters with Michaels for SEG and Cotter for Northern and who does NWG go with you think, Cameron Whitson???

How about SG tonight and then EG and Page on Saturday???

We six baseball teams left/remainng and three softball teams, NWG, SEG and NG still in the hunt and the WES Trojans are going for a baseball title this weekend too…The only loss this season by WES was to HPCA….Is Isenhour their main man right now for WES and WES will need at least two or more main men with the Best-of-Three series in the works…The kid from WES that threw against Grimsley at the Farm Bureau/Hoppers Tournament had a very good arm and that kid was a freshman for WES….

Good luck to all of our area teams in both baseball and softball…

  2. Softball 4A Playoffs – NW Guilford 2, Mooresville 1. WP-G Staunton. LP-A Davis. Mooresville takes the lead in the 6th inning on a pick-off throw to third that hits off of the bat of the Mooresville batter and scores the runner. Samantha Tingler ties it in the bottom of the 6th with a 2-out solo home run to LF. After Gracen Staunton retires the side in the top of the 7th; Emily Chaisson leads off the bottom of the 7th inning with a single up the middle, then Sarah Spence hits a line drive double; setting up Ashtyn Goddard’s game winning RBI chopper to short stop to send the NW Lady Vikings to the 3rd Round of the State Playoffs next Tuesday as they travel to Taylorsville, NC to battle #2 seed Alexander Central.
