HPU’s WBB Stacia Robertson Signs To Play In Poland

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Former High Point University women’s basketball standout Stacia Robertson has signed to play for Basket Gdynia in the Polish Basketball League.

“The opportunity just kind of popped up out of the blue actually,” Robertson said of her move. “I have an amazing agent who has a ton of connections in Europe and she called with the opportunity and said she felt very good about the location and the team. To be able to continue to have a ‘job’ playing basketball is such an incredible blessing and this is an amazing opportunity that I’ll continue to have with this team in Poland.”

The signing comes on the heels of 14.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the Bendigo Braves in the South East Australian Basketball League. Robertson will finish her season in the SEABL before she will have to report to Basket Gdynia’s training camp, which begins Aug. 24.

The Grand Island, Neb. native averaged 18.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game en route to earning Big South Player of the Year. She also became the program’s first player to garner AP All-American honorable mention accolades.
