STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The Elon University women’s golf team claimed sole possession and remains in the top spot after two rounds of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate today, March 28, at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
The Phoenix shot the second-lowest total of 297 (+9) and hold a six-stroke lead at the top with a +14 (293-297–590) score for the tournament. Western Michigan is in second with a 596 (+20) two-round total.
HIGHLIGHTS
Kelsey Badmaev remains in the top-three individually after carding an even-par 72 on Monday and her -1 (71-72–143) score for the tournament is a stoke behind the leader Martina Edberg of Cal State University Fullerton. Edberg, the No. 91-ranked player by GolfStat, shot a second-round low 70 and has the lead at -2 (72-70–142).
In addition for the Phoenix, Emily Brooks continued to hold her spot in the top-10 individually as she holds a score of four-over par (71-77–148) after two days. Sunna Vidisdottir surged up 18 spots after shooting a 73 (+1) in the second round. Heather Munro is remains in the top-20 after shooting a 75 (+3) and is tied for 14th with a +6 (75-75–150) following the second day.
Also for Elon, Aurelia Hamm bettered her first round score with a 77 (+5) in the second round and is in a tie for 42nd overall. Marah Penn is tied for 55th overall competing as an individual and is a +16 (85-75–160) for the tournament.
