STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Emily Brooks and Kelsey Badmaev are atop the individual leaderboard and the Elon University women’s golf team is in a two-way tie for first after the first round of action at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate on Sunday, March 27, at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
The Phoenix is in a tied for first with Western Kentucky after both teams shot a first round five over-par 293. This is third consecutive tournament that Elon has been in the top-five of the of the team standings after the first round. The first day experienced a 75-minute weather delay due to lightning.
HIGHLIGHTS
Brooks and Badmaev both are tied for the lead individually after both carded a first round score of 71 (-1). In addition for the Phoenix, Heather Munro is tied for 20th after shooting a 75 (+3) in the first round. Sunna Vidisdottir is just a stroke behind Munro carding a 76 (+4).
The final two competitors for Elon are two freshman Aurelia Hamm and Marah Penn. Hamm finished the first day with an 80 (+8), while Penn, competing as an individual, carded an 85 (+13).

Action at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate continues tomorrow with day two starting at 8:30 a.m. The Phoenix will begin to tee off at 10 a.m. at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
