HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Elon University women’s tennis team earned its fifth-straight victory sweeping Towson, 4-0, today, April 3, at University Park on the campus of James Madison University.

The Phoenix (10-9) won its fifth consecutive match and Olivia Lucas clinched the victory with her fourth-straight singles triumph at the No. 1 position.

HIGHLIGHTS
The third-seeded Phoenix took an early 1-0 lead earning the double point. Natalia Janowicz and Kirsten Ward got things started with a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles. Doubles duo of Lucas and Suzanne Zenoni clinched the point with a 6-2 at the No. 2 position.

Taking a 1-0 lead into singles play, Elon used three singles victories to secure the 4-0 win. Zenoni was the first to finish, as she defeated Towson’s A.J. Gomer, 6-2, 6-2. Braschi gave Elon a 3-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2, and Lucas clinched the match battling out a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.
