Baseball (19-22, 10-7)

Elon Baseball Live Radio Show, Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m., Mellow Mushroom

Elon vs. North Carolina Central, Tuesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m., Latham Park

Elon at Wake Forest, Wednesday, April 27, at 6 p.m., Winston-Salem, N.C.

Elon at James Madison, Friday-Sunday, April 29 – May 1, at 6/4/2 p.m., Harrisonburg, Va.

• The Phoenix swept Hofstra over the weekend and has now won eight consecutive CAA contests. The last time Elon won at least eight straight league games was 2009.

• Liam O’Regan homered in Elon’s first three games of the week. He had homered in five straight games before going without a home run in game two of the Hofstra series. In fact, the Elon lineup belted 11 homers in five games last week – Tyler McVicar (three), Nick Zammarelli (two), Ryne Ogren (two) and Kyle Jackson (one) all also went deep for the maroon and gold.

• Elon will play five more games this week. The week begins with a home game against North Carolina Central. The Phoenix will then visit Wake Forest and James Madison to wrap up the week.

Men’s Golf

Season Complete

• Elon earned a fourth place finish at the 2016 CAA Men’s Golf Championships at the St. James Plantation Founders Club this past weekend.

• Senior Jonathan DiIanni shot six under-par in his final two rounds to earn a his first-career conference all-tournament team honor and career-best conference tournament finish individually, tied for fifth.

• The Phoenix placed in the top-five for the fourth time this season. Elon also earned a top-five finish at the Elon Intercollegiate, Hummingbird Intercollegiate and the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.

Men’s Tennis (17-6)

Season Complete

• Elon’s season ended on Saturday in a match against College of Charleston that was decided by a 30-point tiebreak at No. 2 singles. The Phoenix fell to the Cougars in a tight 4-3 match in the CAA Men’s Tennis Championship semifinals at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

• The Phoenix won its quarterfinal match on Friday, 4-0, against Hofstra to advance to the semifinals of the CAA Championships.

• Elon finishes the season with a record of 17-6, its highest win total since a 19-win season in 2014. The Phoenix achieved a mark of 12-3 on its home court in 2016.

Softball (25-21, 8-7)

Elon vs. Virginia Tech, Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m., Hunt Softball Park

Elon vs. No. 6 James Madison, April 30 – May 1, Saturday – Sunday, 1/3/1 p.m., Hunt Softball Park

• After a seven-game road swing, the Phoenix is back to close out its 2016 home slate this week with games versus Virginia Tech and sixth-ranked James Madison.

• The Phoenix is coming off a 15-inning contest at UNCW in its most recent contest. The 15-inning game ties for the longest game this season in Division I softball in terms of innings. The Phoenix and the Seahawks officially played for four hours and 18 minutes, marking the longest game played in the country this season.

• This weekend against James Madison, Elon will recognize its seniors Emily Cameron and Kayla Caruso, as well as its senior manager Dan Kirk.

Women’s Lacrosse (10-5, 3-2)

Elon at William & Mary, Saturday, April 30, at noon, Williamsburg, Va.

• The Phoenix went 2-0 over the weekend with an 8-4 win at Drexel and a 12-5 victory at Hofstra. Maeve Cowley and Sloane Kessler both tallied seven points last week. Cowley netted six goals and one assist, while Kessler tallied three scores and four assists.

• The two wins assured the Phoenix of its first winning and 10-win season in program history. The maroon and gold has also clinched a spot in the upcoming CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship May 6 – 8 in Philadelphia.

• Elon closes out the regular season on the road at William & Mary on Saturday. The Phoenix claimed an 8-7 win over the Tribe in the only previous meeting last year in Rhodes Stadium.

Women’s Tennis (14-10)

Season Complete

• The Phoenix had its season end on Saturday with a 4-1 loss to James Madison in the CAA Women’s Tennis Championship semifinals at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

• Erica Braschi finished the season on a 13-match singles winning streak. She concluded her 2016 campaign with a 17-4 overall record in singles action.

• Elon defeated the Drexel Dragons 4-1 on Friday at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Complex in the CAA Championship quarterfinals.

Women’s Track and Field

Not in competition this week

• Elon is coming off winning 13 titles at the Phoenix Invitational on Saturday. It was the second straight year that the maroon and gold has hosted its annual meet after nearly an eight-year hiatus.

• Among the standouts last weekend was the Phoenix’s 4×100-meter relay team of Simone Jackson, Jen Esposito, Desiree Ross and Sydney Griffin. The quartet set a new school-record in the event with a time of 46.52.

• The Phoenix will next compete at the Colonial Athletic Association Outdoor Championships on May 6-7 at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex. Elon will have a chance to defend its league title of a year ago on its home track.
