College Baseball News – Guilford’s Chuck Noble Named First Team All-ODAC

FOREST, Va. — Guilford College senior Chuck Noble earned First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball honors Thursday, according to a vote of the league’s head coaches based on conference games. He represents the Quakers’ first All-ODAC baseball selection since 2014.

Noble, a 6-3, 200-pound first baseman, hit a team-high .368 with 25 hits, five doubles and three RBIs in 18 ODAC contests. In all games, he led the Quakers with a .366 average, good for ninth in the ODAC through games of April 27, and tallied 41 hits, 16 runs scored, 14 RBIs and two stolen bases over 31 games. Noble scattered eight doubles, a triple, and two home runs and finished with a .509 slugging percentage, 10th-best in the league. He notched 14 multi-hit games, including eight against ODAC competition. His best performance came in a 4-for-5 effort with three runs scored and two doubles in an 8-6 victory over Emory & Henry College. Noble was 4-for-8 with three runs scored, two doubles, a home run and six RBI in a two-game stretch versus visiting Franklin & Marshall College.

Noble capped a four-year stint with the Quakers’ program with career highs in batting average, runs scored, hits, extra-base hits, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. He leaves as a .295 career hitter with 92 base knocks. He tallied 41 runs, 50 RBI, 19 doubles and five home runs in his four seasons. A two-time member of Guilford’s Student-Athlete Honor Roll, Noble will graduate with a double major in exercise and sport sciences and health sciences.

Noble helped coach Nick Black’s ’02 club to a 17-23 overall record, 6-14 in the ODAC. Black could return as many as 32 letter winners next season.
