High Point Post 87 HiToms top Greensboro behind Dylan Wilkinson’s 3 hits, 12-6

An impressive effort by Dylan Wilkinson carried High Point Post 87 HiToms to a 12-6 win over Greensboro on Wednesday at Caldwell Academy.

Wilkinson rocked Greensboro with two home runs. Wilkinson went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. Wilkinson homered in the first and fifth innings.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed High Point Post 87 HiToms to easily pull away Greensboro. An RBI single by Kip Brandenburg and a three-run home run by Wilkinson in the first inning and a two-run double by Steve Guy and an RBI single by Andy Ramirez during the second inning fueled High Point Post 87 HiToms’ offense early.

High Point Post 87 HiToms hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for High Point Post 87 HiToms came when Evan Edwards homered in the fifth inning and Wilkinson homered in the first and fifth innings.

Matt Stanley recorded the win for High Point Post 87 HiToms. He allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Scheibley was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.

After posting two runs in the fourth, High Point Post 87 HiToms again scored two in the fifth. In the fourth, High Point Post 87 HiToms scored when Adam Teague was hit by a pitch, scoring Wilkinson.
