NCCA Free Kids’ Clinics – Football and Basketball

Chick-fil-A proudly presents the NCCA East-West All Star Basketball and Football Clinics.

The free clinics, open to boys and girls ages 8-12, are a great and fun way to introduce and develop fundamental skills in young players.

The basketball clinic, in its second year, will take place on Monday, July 18, from 3:00 to 5:00, at Grimsley High School’s Sawyer Gymnasium . It will provide fundamental instruction in basic skills such as passing, dribbling, one-on-one, etc. Chick-fil-A will provide a free t-shirt and food to all participants who complete the clinic. Participants will also receive a free ticket to Monday night’s NCCA East-West All-Star basketball games to be played in the Greensboro Coliseum. The women’s game begins at 6:30 and the men’s game will follow.

The clinic is FREE, but space is limited. On-line registration is required. To register, go to www.eastwestallstars.com – click the “kids clinic’ tab, then click “register for the basketball clinic.”

The football clinic, in its fourth year, will take place Tuesday, July 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Grimsley High School’s Jamieson Stadium. It is a non-contact clinic that will provide fundamental instruction to multiple positions. Corporate sponsor Chick-fil-A will provide a free t-shirt and food to all participants who complete the clinic. Additionally, each participant will receive a free ticket to the NCCA East-West All-Star football game to be played at 8:00 on Wednesday, July 20, at Jamieson Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, please check the East-West All-Star Website for updates.

Ethan Albright, who played high school football at Grimsley High, was named All-ACC at UNC, and was an All-Pro selection with the Washington Redskins, is the NCCA Kids’ Clinics director. Albright has assembled a number of high school and college coaches and current and former pro players to run the clinics. A couple of the pro players expected to attend are D.J. Reader of Grimlsey HS, Clemson, and drafted by the Houston Texans, and Jeremy Phillips of Morehead HS, Lenoir-Rhyne, and the NFL Rams and Falcons.

Chick-fil-A of the Triad and the Chick-fil-A cows will provide fun activities at both games.

All participants must complete the on-line registration and liability waiver to be eligible to participate in the clinics. Parents/guardians are required to remain at Grimsley during the clinics.
