Randy Alexander Named Head Tennis Coach

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Randall Alexander has been named the next Greensboro College men’s and women’s tennis coach, Director of Athletics Bryan Galuski announced Wednesday.

“Coach Alexander is going to bring great enthusiasm, passion, and direction to our men’s and women’s tennis program,” Galuski said. “He has a tremendous amount of experience, is a proven winner, and appreciates teaching and mentoring student-athletes. On behalf of our athletic department, I would like to welcome Coach Alexander and his wife, Laura, to our Greensboro College family.”

Alexander brings a wealth of coaching experience to Greensboro College. Alexander compiled a combined record of 654-202, while recording 26 conference championships, three state runner-up finishes, and a state championship during the past 33 years.

“I am very excited about becoming the next head tennis coach at Greensboro College,” Alexander said. “I started my coaching career coaching college tennis, and now I get to do it again after 30 years at the high-school level.

“I cannot wait to help our student-athletes grow both on and off the court, as I want them all to enjoy the academic-athletic experience that Greensboro College has to offer.”

Most recently, Alexander served as the head boys’ and girls’ tennis coach at Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro, N.C., where he led the Vikings to a combined record of 283-90 over the past 11 seasons while capturing 13 conference championships.

Prior to arriving at Northwest Guilford, Alexander coached at Andrews High School in High Point, N.C.; Grimsley High School and Page High School in Greensboro; and Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.

Alexander graduated from Gardner-Webb in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree and obtained his master’s degree in 1988. He lives in Greensboro with his wife, Laura.
