Game Report on NWG-SWG boys game:
NORTHWEST GUILFORD 75, SOUTHWEST GUILFORD 72
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest and Southwest Guilford competed in a hotly contested Piedmont-Triad 4-A conference game in which the Vikings came out on top by a score of 75-72. The Vikings controlled the first quarter as they moved from a 9-2 advantage to a 38-28 halftime lead. Northwest was able to make timely baskets and free throws down the stretch to secure the victory. Northwest amassed 16 assists on 26 made field goals in the win in front of a great high school basketball environment.
–Thomas Henningan led the Vikings with a double-double of 25 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Reggie Davis also added a double-double of his own with 18 points and 10 rebounds in addition to his 3 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. Tre Turner contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals while Matt Rakes added 8 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. Jalen Spicer finished with “tempo controlling” 8 assists to go with 4 rebounds. Jacob Davis and David Funderberg combined for 10 points and 8 rebounds to hold down the paint for the Vikings.
–Southwest Guilford was led by Brandon Lamberth and Keyshaun Langley as they finished with 18 points each.
