  1. Great year for Girl’s basketball in the area. Most of these girl’s are underclassmen so they will be back. Cunane, King and Kitley will be playing basketball at major D1’s. I don’t know much about the other girl’s so there may be some others. The area is rich with talent.

  2. I don’t understand why J’nai Millner wasn’t acknowledge that she was co-player of the year, nor the I understand how can someone in the conference that didn’t get MVP,end up 0n first team all district, all area and makes all state. It don’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.Its not what you do,it’s who you are,who you know, and whether or not the media wants to give you any shine. I don’t know about other people but I think news 2 wants to know.

  3. I just hate to see certain kids getting mistreated because of who they are or the fact that a great player don’t have a supporting cast as of a lot of top players and teams in the area. When will this change and every child have equal opportunity. We as a community have to start standing up for our kids or this will continue to happen.

  4. Who decide who makes these teams? Are we looking at numbers (stats) which will not tell the whole story about a player. I am willing to bet, that whoever decided this list did not see all of these young ladies play. But same story, some kids aren’t and will not get a fair shake.

  5. A note to Dudley High’s Senior Point Gaurd Teara Johnson

    Dear Teara,

We are so proud of you and congratulate you on a dynamic high school basketball career. Although you were a late bloomer on the scene, you focused and committed yourself to becoming an unforgettable 5’2″ point guard in the State of North Carolina who played with heart, passion, and intensity in every game.

Post season honors are great but your greatest post season honor is the WSSU basketball scholarship that you have earned through your hard work ethic, dedication, and commitment to proving to the world that “Its not the size of the player that makes them a better recruit, its the heart, the fight, the skill, and competitiveness to win in the player!” Not only have you won on the basketball court, you have won in the clasroom holding down a 4.3 GPA at the STEM Early College at NCA&T and will transfer over 48 unit hours of college credit to WSSU to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree by the age of 23. You are winning in life as you prepare for the next phase. You were born a CHAMPION. So yes, your NCA@T Hall of Fame Mom will proudly put on some RED to cheer you on along the way. 🙂 We look forward to more great things to come and God’s speed on your journey. We love you!

    Love Mommy

P.S.- We would like to thank Greensboro Sports for all of your coverage and highlights of all of the area student-athletes but especially Teara Johnson.
