Carolina Acceleration High School Baseball and Softball Playoffs for Friday/Saturday with 6 Guilford County Teams still on ‘The Clock’

For Friday involving our Guilford County teams, we have the following still in “The Hunt”, in the NCHSAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs, as we hit Round Two….

Six teams still on “The Clock’, with three in baseball and three in softball….

Baseball for Friday:
Ardrey Kell(20-8) at Southeast Guilford(22-4) 7pm….SEG should have loads of pitching lined up, since they only went 5 Innings in Game One, on Wednesday, vs. Mallard Creek….
Myers Park(21-3) at Southwest Guilford(20-5) 7pm…MaxPreps says this game will be played on Saturday, but we are staying with Friday…..Jacob Edwards #2 man for SWG is not currently available to pitch, due to stiffness and soreness in his shoulder, but SWG should have a Plan (C)owboys on hand and ready…Blendinger, Plan A, went on Tuesday vs. Huntersville, Edwards, Plan B, and now to Plan (C)owboys…Edwards still in the lineup, still batting leadoff and all is good for him in center field, just not available to pitch right now….
Corinth Holders(19-4) at Northern Guilford(24-3) TBA….No time set on MaxPreps yet….Josh Pike back in the lineup as a DH for Northern, but not yet ready to return to the mound, from the word going around/based on what we have been hearing….JC Ouzts vs. Corinth Holders at NG last year and he did a great job, and you have to think, he will get the call again, on Friday….Ouzts worked just a tad over an inning on Wednesday, so he should be warm and ready to roll on Friday night…..MaxPreps now showing Corinth Holders at NG, on Saturday afternoon at 5pm

Also area:East Forsyth(21-6) at South Caldwell(18-5) Friday at 7pm

Softball for Friday:
Southeast Guilford(18-7) at Alexander Central(24-3) 6pm…..AC Central is a state “Softball Powerhouse” and this could loom good for the Falcons, as they can go in there with nobody expecting it, and maybe sneak out with the upset….
Page(14-8) at North Davidson(22-5) 6pm….Page will have their hands full with another perennial powerhouse for softball in the North Davidson Knights….Pitching more than ever will be the key….Got to have ‘nerves of steel’ going on the road against a very tough foe like ND….Page has the label of “spoilers” on them now and this might be a good time to keep on using that term, for the long and short-term…
West Forsyth(15-10) at Southwest Guilford(20-3) 7pm…..SWG is a very good run-scoring team, but the Cowgirls may find the runs harder to come by vs. a stronger unit like the West Forsyth Titans…SWG put up 8 runs on Tuesday and if they can get 5 or 6 on Friday, that might lead to a Round Two Victory….
