Solid team effort.
Mendenhall Middle 18, Kiser 7
Mendenhall was carrying a shutout in this game until there was just 4.4 seconds left in the game when the Kiser Tigers scored on a 10=yard pass play into the end zone to Big Jackson….The PAT kick was good by Kiser and Mendenhall wins it behind tough running from Douglas Morehead and Seneca Baldwin and Morehead had to have over 100 yards rushing on the day for the Mendenhall Mustangs…..Mendenhall led 6-0 at halftime(scored on a run by Steven Butler) and the Mustangs scored on another run by QB Steven Butler to go up 12-0 with 5:12 left in the 3rd period….The PAT run failed and 12-0 Mendenhall Mustangs….Baldwin added the Mustangs last TD on the afternoon when he scored from 6 yards out with the missed PAT kick Mendenhall had all the points that they would need in this game and Mustangs went to win it, 18-7 over the Kiser Tigers….Again, big days running for Morehead and Baldwin for Mendenhall….We will have some video to add to this game summary in few minutes…Hoping to see more game scores coming in…..

  1. Jamestown Middle 25-0 Shutout over Southwest! Great win and sweet revenge for what happened last year!

  2. Just for clarification, in the Mendenhall/Kiser game, it was #1 QB Steven Butler with two TD runs, and Baldwin with the other TD and a few other good plays. RB #4 Douglas Morehead was the player with the Adrian Peterson-like runs. Good game for the Mustangs against a much bigger team. The defense also played really well. Good team win.

  3. That is good stuff on Butler…We have his second TD on video as a part of this post….We really got caught up in those Morehead runs and I guess we went ahead and gave him the kitchen sink…

In some of later video, you will see the tallest Chain Gang member in Middle School sideline history….He was the big red-headed man the was working the sidelines and many know him as the former Kiser Tiger TE and a big-time player in the NFL with his long-snaps…

The kids need to get some pointers from Mr. Ethan Albright, he is one of the best to ever come out of Guilford County….

  4. Andy, you are 100% correct about Mr. Albright. Our kids have played together for many years, and he and his family are wonderful people.
