Tyler Seibring Named CAA MBB Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Junior forward Tyler Seibring of Elon University men’s basketball earned CAA Co-Player of the Week honors for his performances in the team’s two games last week against William & Mary and Delaware.

Seibring averaged 26.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in Elon’s 1-1 week. The Normal, Ill. native shot 67.9% (19-28) from the floor, 88.9% (8-9) from 3-point range and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line. Seibring shares this week’s player of the week honor with Joe Chealey of College of Charleston, who averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the Cougars’ road wins at Northeastern and Hofstra.

The junior forward scored a season-high 28 points with 8 rebounds in a 99-92 loss at William & Mary and followed with a team-high 24 points and 8 boards in a win over Delaware. He’s averaging 18.8 in CAA play and shooting a league-best 52.1% from three.

Seibring earns his third-career CAA Player of the Week honor and earns Elon’s first weekly award of the season. He was a two-time CAA Player of the Week honoree as a sophomore last season. This is also the 22nd time an Elon player has earned a conference player of the week award since the Phoenix joined the Division I ranks in 1999.

The Phoenix returns home on Thursday night, Feb. 8, to host the Hofstra Pride at 7 p.m. inside Alumni Gym.
