Carolina Acceleration High School Baseball and Softball Scoreboard for Tonight(3/28/18):NWG vs. Randleman game lived up to the hype/Excellent baseball game

More scores and numbers on the way…..
BASEBALL FINALS:
Northern Guilford 7, McMichael 5
WP-Sam Kaplan, 4 IP, 2 R. Dean Herring-2 for 3, 3 R. Matt Cotter, 2 for 3, 2 doubles, 2 RBI. Brandon Bledsoe-1 for 3, 2 R, RBI. Hank Dodson-1 for 3, R, 2 RBI.

Final from Sandy Gann Field, on the campus of Northwest Guilford High School:
Randleman 3, Northwest Guilford 1

Randleman comes out of here at (11-1) and probably among the Top 5 2-A teams in the state…Northwest Guilford rode some strong left handed pitching and two key doubles from Gavin Mortenson and the Vikings gave the visiting Randleman Tigers all they wanted tonight at, “The Gann”…Didn’t they used to say to be “The Man”, you had to beat “The Gann” and well, Jake Smith and his Tigers got in done tonight, at NWG…Northwest Guilford now at (7-4) after the loss and the NWG Vikings have the Grimsley Whirlies coming to “The Gann” for a 7pm Metro 4-A encounter on Thursday night/tomorrow night….

Got there to the game early on and the break down we have shows Randleman had built up a 2-1 lead at the end of the second inning…End of three frames, Randleman jumps in front 3-1 and the game stayed right there at the 3-1 mark with the Randleman Tigers up by two runs and the NWG Vikings could never get closer on this nice Spring night…

Good job as always by Mr. Hylton on the PA for tonight’s game and it looked the players had a well-prepared meal coming up on the picnic tables out by the entrance to the stadium and that is good way to call it a day….Good to long-time NWG Vikings baseball manager and part-time rock skipper Spencer at the game again tonight and I would call Spencer your team skipper and shot-caller, but that might be putting the cart before the proverbial horse….

All-in-all a great game and it should be another good one, when the Grimsley Whirlies(6-4) come out to face Northwest Guilford(7-4), at Sandy Gann Field, on Thursday night….

I was saw where Northwest Guilford has a kid Robert Dix on their roster and he must be the brother of Christian Dix, a Northwest Guilford football and baseball name from the past who I think made his way up to Brevard, upon graduating from NWG…And there is a Gray Bellenkes, might well be the brother of was it Jackson Bellenkes and you have another name from the past that came to mind this evening and that was Sanders Kuxhausen and back then you had Keaton Haack, the Everett brothers, the Shoemaker brothers, the Aker brothers and many more, from back in the day and now here we are in 2018 and time to progress….Progress Reports are due out late Thursday….

  1. You guys totally missed a great game between SEG and SWR. Douglas and Marsh battled for 7 innings with the game at 2-2 . I think there was only 1 ER at that time. SWR had bases loaded with 1 out in bottom of 7th and SEG turned a double to get out of the 7th. SEG scored 2 in the 8th and went to GUY to close it out. Marsh pitched a great game in the loss.
