Northwest Guilford (NC) captured 5th place in the 2018 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational with a 34-27 victory over Miami (FL) Senior at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
TURNING POINT: Northwest Guilford went on a 6-0 run to break a tied score at 5-5 in the first half to take an 11-5 lead with 6:51 on the clock. The Vikings went on to lead 17-7 at the half and by as many as 12 in the second half to win the low-scoring affair.
NORTHWEST GUILFORD STAT LEADERS:Thalia Carter led the Vikings with 17 points while Cayla King added 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals….Two points each for Northwest Guilford’s Megan Harkey, Jadyn Murray and Anniston Greene…Thalia Carter was 5-10 from the field and she made 7-9 free throws and real good shooting there…..Reagan Kargo did not play on Saturday for NWG, due to injury….
MIAMI SENIOR STAT LEADERS:Colleen Buckner led the Stingarees with six points.
