Sights and Sounds from Saturday’s Football Scrimmages and Jamborees:At Grimsley, at Dudley, at Northeast Guilford HS

Here is our upload of video shots from today’s high school football scrimmages and jamborees…

We began our trek at Grimsley High School where the Grimsley Whirlies were facing the WS Reagan Raiders….

Click On Below to begin the video show….At Grimsley, then on over to Dudley HS, and then out to Northeast Guilford High School…We saw the Whirlies with a “Big Paw from Shaw”, today…

We saw Northern spreading the field on Dudley some, and the “Dudley D” was still hanging in there…But NG was having some level of success vs. the Panthers…NEG was able to get up field vs. Southeast, and Ragsdale saw some resistance from McMichael, especially from the MAC offense that might have raised a few eyebrows…MAC showed me a TD, that I wasn’t expecting…

We have the football players, the Band and the Cheerleaders on here, so get your football moves on, and move on over here to GreensboroSports.com and as one coach said today, “That kid is 6’5 300 pounds, don’t try and throw the ball through him, it can’t be done”….

Up first our stop at Grimsley for the Sights and Sounds of high school football…Again, Click On Below…

The Grimsley Band comes marching in…

Now we make our move to Dudley High School, where the Dudley Panthers are facing the Northern Guilford Nighthawks….

We now turn our attention to the Dudley High School football cheerleaders….

Next stop is Northeast Guilford High School for Northeast Guilford vs. Southeast Guilford and Ragsdale vs. McMichael….
We start out with NEG vs. SEG…

Ragsdale vs. McMichael next and this might be the “Play of the Day”….You cut the camera on, you look up, and the Touchdown is there…

Back to Northeast vs. Southeast and NEG with one of the longer runs of the day…

Still with NEG vs. SEG

Back to the other side of the field and Ragsdale vs. McMichael…

Ragsdale TD pass to Devan Boykin….

Our last play of the day, with Ragsdale QB on the run and Coach Boykin said, “Go ahead and turn the ball up field and run up field sooner”….’Get that ball in the hole and GO’…..

  1. When you least expect it, your’e selected, Action’s on its way, Smile, your’e on Andy’s Camera……

  2. Good afternoon Andy,

I’m back in the area now and going into the upcoming high school season I am curious to know who are some of the local guys I should keep my eye on at the running back position? I’m told the Fairley kid over at Southeast is one to keep my eye on. Another one that keeps popping up on my radar is the Kid over at Grimsley. It’s also been mentioned to me that Northern Guilford has some talent in its backfield with a mix of veteran and young guys. Of course I’m sure Dudley and Page will have some talent in its backfield as I’d expect nothing less. Could you or any of your other viewers provide me with some insight on the running back position this year? Thank you.

  3. Fairley from SEG is a good one to watch….Quan Nora, a junior, is Grimsley’s top back/RB and he is a good one…Jeiel Melton is the kid at Page and he ran strong as a freshman…Marlon Darby and Myles Smith and Wilhite at Dudley give the Panthers a load of tough RB’s…Dudley backfield is loaded…

For Northern Guilford, the Murchison kid has proven to be their top RB and return man and they have a Moseley kid who is a top RB…

The RB’s are still out there, but the skill position kids are the ones people are eyeing the most in kids like Mike Wyman at Dudley and Devan Boykin at Ragsdale…

There are a bunch more and I hope others will add some of those in here…But the RB position has changed somewhat, but Nora at Grimsley will be the Whirlies select back….

  4. As one coach said today, “That kid is 6’5 300 pounds, don’t try and throw the ball through him, it can’t be done”….

We saw the Whirlies with a “Big Paw from Shaw”, today…Travis Shaw is the player the WS Reagan coach was talking about…

Another player that is really strong in the skills position is Mehki Wall from Dudley HS…Very fast and plays WR and KR….

Other names, we are looking for them and hope others will add-in….

  5. SEG may be in trouble, terrible showing against
NEG.Missing their QB Douglass… Lots of work to do..

  6. @Fball fan 1 who is the Douglass kid you’re talking about? I thought Patterson did a good job at QB yesterday for NEG

  7. FB fan probably talking about Southeast Guilford’s QB from last season, Ryan Douglas, now at UNC-Asheville with the baseball team…

SEG was mixing up a lot of players yesterday, with the mix of first string, second string etc. and SEG should be OK…Was hearing one of SEG’s key players was hurt in practice and he was out/missing on Saturday, at NEG….

Patterson did look good for NEG, at QB….At least the kid in the NEG orange jersey was looking real good, thinking that was Patterson…….
