Elon Women’s Track: Kemei Sets School Record at Trials of Miles Meet in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – A new school-record from Scolasticah Kemei in the 5,000-meters highlighted the performances for the Elon University women’s track and field team as a few members of the distance team competed at the Trials of Miles Night at the Track this weekend at Lincoln Park at Jersey City.
RESULTS

Kemei raced a time of 16:06.55 in the 5,000-meters “A” race, winning the event title. Sophomore Maria Ahm was fourth overall in the race with her time of 16:34.66, a new personal-best and now the third-fastest time in school history. Kemei’s time now places her 37th overall on the NCAA East Outdoor Qualifying List for the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville on May 27.

Melissa Anastasakis also competed for the maroon and gold, running in the 1,500-meters “A” race. Anastasakis was 10th overall in the event with her time of 4:25.325.
