Eastern Guilford scored with 6:05 left in the second quarter on a one-yard run by Trent Horton…Horton successfully ran in for the two-point conversion, and the Easter Guilford Wildcats took an 8-0 lead, that they would never surrender, and Eastern Guilford is going for their third straight conference title, and they made their record (2-0) in the conference, with the win this evening…

Kiser made today’s game very interesting when the Tigers recovered a high snap that was fumbled during a EG Wildcats punt, and then Kiser’s Hudson Cooper took the football into the end zone on a one-yard run, and with this late TD, the EG lead had now shrunk to just two points, with EG on top of Kiser, 8-6…Kiser went for the tie, on their two-point conversion attempt, but Kiser QB Hudson Cooper was stopped shy of the end zone, and with 5:47 left in the contest, Eastern Guilford had that 8-6 advantage over the Kiser Tigers…

EG would make that lead stand up, and Eastern Guilford goes on to win this football game, 8-6, in a tight one tonight, at Jamieson Stadium, on the Grimsley High School campus…Final:Eastern Guilford 8, Kiser 6

Hard running today from Eastern’s Trent Horton, and from the big back Samari Smith…Horton would have to be your Player of the Game, and good news for the Eastern Guilford Middle School, Horton is only a seventh-grader…Early in the game, Kiser QB Hudson Cooper was hitting Dixon Broach with some key passes…In the first quarter, Eastern turned their running game over to Horton and Smith, and they picked up some big chunks of yardage, and the EG Wildcats got great blocking up front, from their offensive line…

Eastern was getting big stops from their defensive lineman, big #65….The Kiser tacklers trying to slow down Horton and Smith included Kyrie Millner, Drew Searles, Taye Cook, and Reaves McGovern….Late in the game Jayden Slade came up with a big tackle for a loss for Kiser that helped lead to the TD run by the Tigers’ Hudson Cooper…

Like we were saying the EG Wildcats’ Trent Horton took a beating out there today, but he kept on going, and got great support from his offensive line, and the EG Wildcat Defense stood tall when the game was on the line…
++++++++++Interview with Eastern Guilford Middle School Wildcats’ Coach Simpson, after the EG-Kiser game…++++++++++
