Panther Men Start Indoor Season at Liberty Kick-Off

LYNCHBURG, Va — The High Point University Men’s Track & Field team opened its 2021-22 indoor campaign at the Liberty Kick-Off. Paul Gore was the top individual for HPU as he won the 60m dash and matched the school record with a time of 6.80.

Gore ran a time of 6.80 in the Men’s 60M dash to place first and tie the High Point School record.

Tucker Conine was HPU’s top finisher in the Heptathlon finishing fourth. Conine finished first in the Heptathlon 60M dash with a time of 7.10. Evan Mills finished first in the last heptathlon event of the day, the 1000 M with a time of 3:00.82.

Terris Burton II set a PR in the 60M Hurdles as he ran an 8.40.

Chris Van Niekerk finished second with a throw of 17.62m in the shot put.

Larry Coaxum finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.27m.

Up Next: High Point’s return to indoor track continues this weekend as a select group of Panthers travel to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Lindsey Ickes, Hannah Brookover, and Hocine Bouchrak will all be running on Saturday, December 4th in Beantown.
