Multiple Panthers in Action in North Carolina and Texas – TWO STORIES
HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University Track & Field finished multiple days of competition at three different meets in North Carolina (Raleigh Relays) and Texas (Texas Relays and Texas State Bobcat Invitational). The highlight for the Panther men this weekend was Deron Dudley running a 10.33 in the Men’s 100m U/C Times Final at the Texas Relays. Dudley finished fourth in the competition, and he still has the seventh-fastest time in the country from last week’s meet.
Panther Particulars
Paul Gore and Dudley also ran the 200m dash at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. Gore finished in seventh with a time of 21.59 in a 2.4mph headwind. Dudley finished in 12th with a time of 21.71, also running in a 2.4mph headwind. Dudley and Gore also ran the 100m dash at the Bobcat Invitational.
Chris Van Niekerk finished in seventh place in the A section of the men’s discus at the Texas Relays with a best throw of 55.17m. Van Niekerk’s mark of 59.57m still has him in fourth place in the NCAA East Region in the event. Van Niekerk also competed in section A of the men’s shot put of the Texas Relays and finished 12th throwing 17.69m.
Hocine Bouchrak ran a time of 14:01.72 in the men’s 5000m at Raleigh Relays for his best time outdoors in his career in the events.
Freddie Allen III finished in fifth place in the B section of the men’s long jump at the Texas Relays with a best mark of 7.35m.
Terris Burton ran the 400m hurdles at both events in Texas and finished with times of 53.57 at the Texas Relays and 53.78 at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
Larry Coaxum finished with a mark of 14.11m in the triple jump at the Raleigh Relays. Bobby Dupell III finished with a time of 49.41 in the men’s 400m and won his heat at the Raleigh Relays.
Jonny House and Gabriel Ludwick competed in the 800m run at the Raleigh Relays.
House ran a few tenths of a second faster than he did last week with a time of 1:55.42. Ludwick ran a time of 1:55.00.

The Panthers will return home with their full squad in competition for their annual renowned VertKlasse Meeting meet. The competition will take place on Friday, April 1st, and Saturday, April 2nd with events starting each day at 9:30 am. The majority of the VertKlasse will be broadcast on ESPN+ on both days.

The highlight for the Panther women this weekend was Sydney Horn who cleared 4.30m outdoors at the Texas Relays and finished in seventh place in the Women’s Pole Vault Elite.

Mackenzie Horn finished in fifth place in the women’s pole vault at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational clearing 4.05m. Rachel Vesper finished in 12th place in the event clearing 3.90m.
Alicia Dawson finished in fourth place in the women’s long jump at the Bobcat Invitational with a mark of 5.98m.
Ashley Jones ran the first 10,000m of her career and finished second in her heat with a time of 35:22.84. Sydney Bagus finished in third place in her heat of the women’s 1500m run with a personal best time of 4:38.43. Franzi Jakobs finished with a personal best time of 4:39.06 in her 1500m run heat.
Olive Allen also ran the 1500m run and finished with a time of 4:30.86.
Lindsey Ickes set a personal best time of over 7 seconds in the 5000m run as she ran 16:41.28 to finish sixth in her heat. Hannah Brookover ran her best 5000m time as an HPU Panther with a time of 16:28.46.
Nyile Facey ran the 400m hurdles at both events in Texas and finished with times of 1:01.14 and 1:02.23 at the Bobcat Invitational and Texas Relays, respectively.
Facey also ran the 100m hurdles at both events and finished with times of 13.92 at the Texas Relays.
Camryn Harper ran a time of 2:12.00 in the women’s 800m run at the Raleigh Relays.
Ebba Ahman ran a time of 1:02.93 in the 400m hurdles at the Raleigh Relays.
