San Francisco 49ers versatile offensive superstar Deebo Samuel presumably used social media last week to make it known that he wants a contract extension or to be sent to a club that will pay him what he feels he deserves, as he is set to play on the final year of his rookie contract at an inexpensive price.

The situation has apparently taken an ugly turn.

Per David Bonilla of 49ers WebZone, Samuel took to Instagram Live on Friday to say he has received death threats and racist remarks allegedly sent by unhappy San Francisco fans.

“It don’t bother me,” Samuel explains in the clip. “It don’t. You all were the same ones that was just hoorahing and [yelling] ‘Go Deebo.’ Now you all want to send death threats and send all these racial — all the stuff that I got. It don’t bother me. I’m cool. I’m chillin’. I’m happy.”

Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network reported Wednesday that Samuel wants “a contract in the range of about $25 million per year” and that “the Niners will likely extend Deebo’s contract rather than trade him.”

However, Tim Kawakami of The Athletic later wrote San Francisco could trade the 2019 second-round draft pick for a package that includes a first-round selection before the upcoming draft gets underway on April 28.
