This report came out last week, but some of you may have missed it, and this man deserves some special recognition, for time served…

Charlie Atkinson, a former Greensboro Bats and Greensboro Hornets writer for the News and Record, and he also wrote about high school sports, and local college sports while at the N&R, well after 37 years with the N&R, and the Winston-Salem Journal, Charlie has left the papers on his own terms…

He turned in a lot of work, and some very good and interesting sports stories, over the years, at the two above mentioned publications….
