Justin Schatz
East head coach is entering his 12th season as the coach at Hoggard High where he has compiled a career record of 207 – 26 – 7 in 11 seasons and his teams have won 10 conference regular season titles and made 10 state playoff appearances…10 times named Conference Coach of the Year and 8 times named Regional Coach of the Year…played in the 1998 NCCA East-West All-Star game…born in Raleigh, NC…1998 graduate of East Wake High where he played soccer – named All-Conference 4 times, 1997 Conference Player of the Year, All-South, East All-Star, and East Wake HS Hall of Fame…2002 graduate of UNC Wilmington…Masters of Education from East Carolina…says “It is such an incredible honor to be able to come back to these games I played in and be able to coach in them.”

West Women
Josh Martin
West head coach is entering his 6th season as the coach at T.C. Roberson High where he has compiled a record of 88 – 23 – 3 in 5 seasons…he has compiled a career record of 109 – 53 – 5 in 8 seasons and his teams have won 2 conference regular season titles and made 4 state playoff appearances, including being the state runner up in 2021…named Conference Coach of the Year, Regional Coach of the Year, and State Coach of the Year…previously coached in the 2017 men’s West State Games and the 2021 men’s Clash of the Carolinas…previously served as the men’s soccer coach at East Burke High , men’s and women’s soccer coach at Draughn High and Erwin High…currently coaches men’s and women’s soccer at T. C. Roberson… born in Etowah, TN…1997 graduate of McMinn Central High (TN) where he played soccer and basketball…2001 graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College…says “I am extremely honored to represent the West in the all-star game. The state of North Carolina is home to some elite programs and talented players, and I look forward to working with all the coaches from the West to put together a strong squad for the 2022 games. Jay Raynor
East head coach is entering his 12th season as the coach at East Bladen High where he has compiled a career record of 139 – 75 – 14 in 11 seasons and his teams have won 3 conference regular season titles and made 11 state playoff appearances…he also serves as the women’s soccer coach, compiling a career record of 132-100-2, and as the men’s assistant basketball coach… twice named NCSCA Regional Coach of the Year and 3-times named NCSCA Women’s Regional Coach of the Year…3-times named Men’s Conference Coach of the Year and Women’s Conference Coach of the Year…named 2017-2018 East Bladen High School Teacher of the Year and Bladen County Teacher of the Year…2020 and 2021 recipient of the Team Ethics / Sportsmanship Award for Men’s Soccer from the United Soccer Coaches (2019,2020, and 2021 recipient for Women’s Soccer)…2021 recipient for the Team Pinnacle Award for both men’s and women’s soccer…served as a Regional Chairman for Women’s Soccer and the Secretary for the NCSCA …previously served as the soccer coach at Clarkton School of Discovery and Elizabethtown Middle School…born in Elizabethtown, NC…2002 graduate of East Bladen High where he played baseball, basketball – winning the Most Improved Player Award and playing on a state championship team – and soccer – where he was named team Most Valuable Player…2007 graduate of Campbell University…Special Ed Certification from East Carolina University…says “It is definitely an honor to be coaching such a prestigious event, and when you look at the coaches who have been chosen before me, I am humbled. This is something I never dreamed. I am humbled and thankful to be named for this honor.”

West Men
Jim Blanton
West head coach is entering his 17th season as the coach at Hibriten High where he has compiled a career record of 242-114-23 in 16 seasons and his teams have won 4 conference regular season titles and made 13 state playoff appearances…named Conference Coach of the Year 3 times and Regional Coach of the Year 5 times…has previously served as the JV head men’s soccer coach (3 years), and as the JV baseball coach (1 year) at Hibriten…also served as the women’s varsity softball coach for 17 years where he has compiled a career record of 213-165, and his teams won 4 conference titles, made 13 state playoff appearances, and he was twice named Conference Coach of the Year…born in Spartanburg, SC…1995 graduate of Hibriten High where played baseball and soccer – named All-Conference in soccer and won 3 conference titles and played in the regional final as a senior…2003 graduate of Appalachian State…says “Being able to coach in the all-star game is one of the greatest honors of my career. I am grateful to all of my peers that nominated me for this honor. I am humbled by their recognition. I am thankful and lucky to have spent my entire career coaching and teaching at one school. My assistant coaches are some of the greatest men I have ever known, and I owe them a debt of huge gratitude. They have been there with me every step of the way and are the reason I am the coach I am today. I also am blessed beyond measure to have the greatest coach’s wife ever, who has played the role of mom and dad many times when I was out coaching. My two sons and wonderful wife have been my greatest supporters, and I love and appreciate them greatly.”
