Steak n Shake Players of the Game were the winning Hoppers’ pitcher, Cristian Charle, and the Hoppers’ home run hitter, Abrahan Gutierrez…Gutierrez homered in the bottom of the first inning, to give the Grasshoppers their early 3-1 lead…
Charle was the quiet man, with a very efficient outing on the hill/mound/bump for the Hoppers…Charle worked three innings in relief, giving up 0 Runs, on 2 hits, with 0 BB, and 0 K’s…Again, Charle was ‘The Quiet Man”, as he quieted down the WS Dash, after they had scored two key runs in the fifth inning, off of Logan Hoffman…In the fifth, Charle induced a fly ball to center, from Ben Norman of the Dash, and then he got Adam Hackenburg to ground into a double play, and the next thing you know, Charle is hot as a smooth-running Harley…
In the sixth inning, he hit a batter(Dash #9 man Jason Matthews), but he ended up on facing only four Dash batters in that sixth inning…In the seventh inning, Charle faced just three WS Dash hitters, and after he gave up a a one-out single to Luis Mieses, he got Alsander Womack to hit into a double play, which featured a come-backer to pitcher Charle, who went to second for one out, and then Hopper SS Acuna went to first base, to complete the twin-killing…
Charle was so smooth, you had to call him Mr. Smooth, or ‘The Quiet Man’…And if Charle was “The Quiet Man”, then Gutierrez has had to be the “Walking Man”, in recent games…Earlier in the week, ‘The G Man’, Abrahan with an N, he walked three times in one game, and he scored three times…The next game he walked two times, the game after that, Gutierrez one time with a walk, and then tonight/Saturday, “The G Man” walks again…Abrahan with the N, also homered again, and that three-run shot, helped the Hoppers a lot…
