Final from Tuesday night, at First National Bank Field, in downtown Greensboro:
Jersey Shore BlueClaws 14, Greensboro Grasshoppers 3
WP:Matthew Russell(5-7)
LP:Ricky Devito(3-4)
Hoppers(44-57)/BlueClaws(38-65)

BlueClaws' line:14-10-1
Hoppers' line: 3- 8-4

The Greensboro Grasshoppers gave up 13 runs in the Top of the Third inning, to trail Jersey Shore, 13-0….Jersey Shore scored 13 runs, on 6 hits that inning, and the Hoppers committed two errors that led to four of the 13 runs…Kendall Simmons hit a three-run home run for the BlueClaws in that inning…Jersey sent 17 batters to the plate in that Top of the Third inning, and the ‘Claws nearly batted around twice that inning…In that same Top of the Third inning, the Hoppers walked five BlueClaw batters and also hit one batter with a pitch…Again, 17 Jersey Shore batters came to the plate in that crazy Top of the Third…

The Grasshoppers did come up with five Doubles on the night, with Francisco Acuna having two of them, while Yoyner Fajardo, Abrahan Gutierrez, and Hudson Head also doubled for the Hoppers…Fajardo was 3-5 on the evening…The Hoppers three runs came from their number eight and number nine spots, in the batting order…Acuna 2-4/2 Doubles/2 Runs/RBI, and Jackson Glenn went 0-3/Run…

BlueClaws’ pitcher Andrew Baker hit 100 mph on the pitching radar gun on the video scoreboard, and Baker was at 100 mph, at least 3-4 times during his two innings of work on the mound in relief of ‘Claws starter Matthew Russell…Russell went five innings and struck out four Hoppers, while Baker also struck out four Hopper batters…

There was a near-collision in shallow left field, when the Hoppers’ SS Acuna, and third baseman Dariel Lopez were both going back and looking to haul in a soft pop-up…Lopez was waving everybody off, but Acuna stepped in, and was in Lopez’ back pocket, as Acuna took over and made the catch, for the out…Close call there in shallow left field…

Attendance:3,769
Time of Game-2:54
