Omega Sports Report:Greensboro Grasshoppers feeling like they have an Endy Rodriguez hangover, as they fall again to Jersey Shore BlueClaws, on Wednesday at FNB Field

Courtesy of Omega Sports, “Your Neighborhood Sports Store”, on Battleground Avenue, in Greensboro….

Final from Wednesday afternoon, at First National Bank Field, in downtown Greensboro:
Jersey Shore BlueClaws 4, Greensboro Grasshoppers 1
WP:Rafael Marcano(1-3)
LP:Jared Jones(5-6)
Grasshoppers(44-58/17-20)/BlueClaws(39-65/14-24)

Claws' line: 4-6-1
Hoppers' line:1-5-1

The Hoppers’ only run came off of a solo home run, from Abrahan Gutierrez, and the Hoppers had two Double, one from Claudio Finol, and the other from Hudson Head…

Only five Hopper hits, but the BlueClaws only came up with 6 hits, and they got a two-run HR from Baron Radcliffe, JS with a Triple from Nicholas Torres, and a Double from Casey Martin…

Three/half of the JS six hits, were extra-base hits…Hoppers with two Doubles on Wednesday, and they had five Doubles, back on Tuesday night…

Hopper newcomer Jase Bowen is still looking for his first hit as a Hopper, but he did turn in catch-em out, throw-em out Double Play on defense, in Wednesday’s game…Fly ball catch in right field by Bowen, and then Bowen was throwin’ to first base, to double-up the runner, getting back into the first base bag too late…

The Hoppers with five hits on Wednesday, from five different players, with Eli Wilson going 1-2/2 BB’s…Wilson also took a shot behind the plate, while he was at catcher, as a foul ball came back, and hit him in a very bad place, and Wilson was almost down for the count, and he was in unbearable pain…He did recover, and it was good to see him stick around, and remain in the game, and be able to contribute, on Wednesday….

For Jersey Shore, Nicholas Torres was 2-4/Run, and Baron Radcliffe also went 2-4/HR/3 RBI, for the ‘Claws…..

Ten strikeouts from the Hoppers’ pitching staff, with 5 each from Jared Jones, and Domingo Gonzalez…Five K’s from BlueClaws starter Marcano, and three K’s, from Albertus Barber…

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are still feeling the effects of losing Endy Rodriguez, after his call-up to the Pittsburgh Pirates Double A Altoona Curve…

Rodriguez is gone, and the Hoppers are still in a hangover mode, with Endy’s sudden ending with the Greensboro team, but the Hoppers have to get over this hangover, and develop a new team personality, that allows them to move forward successfully, with Rodriguez in Altoona, and the rest of the Grasshoppers still here in Greensboro, and needing to come together, as a new unit…A unit that can come together as a team, and find success, and learn to win, without E-Rod…
