  1. MaxPreps rankings are always wrong. Top three any order is East Forsyth,Dudley and Tabor. Grimsley right where they should be and Northern should be below them all. Reagan at 10? Reagan would also beat Northern this year, heck Reagan may win this Friday. I don’t understand how they put these rankings together because they never make sense.
    Reagan vs Grimsley should be game of the week, especially considering last year the game was 21-19.

  2. MaxPreps has a very scientific way and interesting way of arriving at their numbers for the poll….Strength of Schedule, Wins, Losses, Margin of Victory Etc…(Not sure if they take classification into consideration or not.)

    But East Forsyth should be #1 right now, I would think everyone would be in agreement of that…Then should we go Dudley(2), Grimsley(3), Reidsville(4), and then Northern Guilford(5)?????
    (Some of you may think Dudley or Grimsley should be ranked #1, let us know.)

    Are others calling for teams like WS Reagan and Mount Tabor to be in that Top Five?????

    Should 4-A teams be ranked above 1-A teams and 2-A teams(East Surry and Reidsville)?????

    How do you rank ’em in a good old fashioned “Rankoff”????? At least, what do you have for your Top Ten, or your Top Five?????

    Let’s hear from some of you, and serve it up, Rank ’em Off the way you want….

  3. I really can see a Tabor or Reagan ahead of Northern for a top five spot.
    Regarding classification, that depends. Reidsville is better than a lot of 4A teams. East Surry nah i don’t know about that one. i mean who they play or beat?
    In the end, to the players and coaches it really should not matter just go play ball and try to win one game at a time.

  5. MaxPreps takes into consideration some of the nearby Virginia high school teams….Teams that are not far off from the Greensboro area, and these teams are still sort of in the Greensboro Metro area…
    (And MaxPreps must being leaning toward high schools in the more Western part, because I would think in their good years, George Washington Danville would be a better team than Bassett….GW Danville would be a pretty good fit for the Greensboro area teams, and our guys used to play them on occasion…Page played them several times, back in the day, and GW Danville would bring a good crowd to Greensboro for the games.)

    I wish we had the Alamance County teams listed among the Greensboro area schools, but the Alamance County teams are in there with the Raleigh area high schools, with Cardinal Gibbons being the #1 Raleigh area team, with a record of (0-1)…

  6. Kind of weird on the Virginia teams too is the fact that most every Virginia high school team hasn’t even played a game yet…Most of the VA high schools don’t begin play until September 2…Some schools will kick it off this Friday August 26, but most are going with Game One, on September 2….

    For Bassett to ranked where there are in this Top 25 Poll, they must have had a heck of a season last year, and must be returning nearly everybody from that team….

    +++++Bassett was (9-3) last season(2021) and lost to George Washington Danville, 21-7…++++++++++

  7. Off of strength of schedule I can see why Dudley is 6, they have a weak schedule but they dominate their opponents and do well in the playoffs.
