For those of you that missed the Mini-Series, and the Mini Drama, we started out with what showed the signs of a fairly quiet night, that turned/took on a dramatic twist, and it went like this, as the Storm came rolling in just after Midnight, last night…
We went looking for the Page-Western Guilford game score, and we found it…I won’t say I found it, because I don’t want to take all of the credit/blame, but there it was, on the FOX 8 website, and there it was again, on the News and Record website, Western Guilford 27, Page 21….We had it, reeled it in, got it posted, and got out of our boat, and began to wade ashore..
But, the Storm clouds rolled in, the rains started to pour down, and the waters were getting deep…We could not get to the boathouse in time, and we were in a monsoon, and it soon became a flood….
Got lucky, when someone tossed us a life preserver/life jacket and we were able to wade ashore…As we were wading ashore, we Got the Right Score…It was not Western Guilford 27, Page 21; but the correct score was, Page 10-7 over WG….Page 10, Western Guilford 7, and we were back on Dry Ground, all safe and sound….
This was all going on while most of you were already in bed, and fast asleep, but we were right there in the midst of that Storm, and I am glad we got it all straightened out, and were able to shove on, and still make it to the Friday Night Finish Line…
And now here we are, with the Saturday Morning Rewind about to come your way again…This is really what they call picking ’em up and putting them down and moving forward….Not sure how many of you follow all of our exploits here at GreensboroSports.com, but there never seems to be a lack of info, creative juices, or the good old, “Keep on Keeping On Spirit”….
Here we go, and we saw Page slip past Western Guilford, Southwest Guilford got rocked hard by Southeast Guilford, Southern Guilford survived the Smith Eagles in Overtime, High Point Central got their first win of the season at Rockingham County, Northwest Guilford rolled past their chief rival, Northern Guilford, and did you have another favorite from last night???

Thoughts and Prayers going out today to John Allen, the public address announcer/PA man for the Smith Golden Eagles, the Dudley Panthers and N.C. A&T football…John had to have his leg amputated due to diabetes, and we wish him a speedy recovery…Don’t know him all that well, but do know his Voice, from all of those years over at Ben L. Smith HS, and then he took over at Dudley, when Skip McCall passed away, and I do believe he has been doing the PA work for A&T football for many years…We wish him the best, as he works to get back to going full-steam again…Had one of our old radio buddies, Buddy Bray, have to go through the same procedure, and it is not an easy adjustment…
Also giving the Shout Out to Tanner Ballou, Mike Godette and Trent Cloud as the Offensive Players of the Game for Northwest Guilford last night, and we had Conner Balton on Defense for NWG, as the POG…Balton caught a TD pass, to go along with his defensive efforts…Ballou had 4 TD passes and two-point conversion tosses, Godette with three TD runs, and Cloud with over 150 yards receiving and a perfect sideline go-route, going for 64 yards and an NWG TD…
Bryson Serrano with 4 TD passes for the SEG Falcons…Serrano has really been a work-in-progress for SEG at QB, and he has progressed and developed nicely, over the past two seasons….It is like he has become a top young high school quarterback, right before our very eyes…His development has been fun to watch/observe…
