Grimsley(8-0/5-0) at Page(5-3/4-1)
The Grimsley offense is very strong, and the Page defense has been their strong suit this season…On offense Page runs the ball very strong, but the Page Pirate passing game has not been all that potent…Page ran the ball for over 350 yards vs. Northern Guilford last week, and the Pirates attempted very few passes…You have to be thinking Grimsley will be playing at least seven me up near the line of scrimmage on defense, and maybe they go with eight men in the box, as they say…If Page can’t throw it vs. Grimsley then it could end up being a long night for the Pirates, but it all depends on how both teams get started…Page must get off to a good start to be in this game, because Grimsley can hit you quick with QB Ryan Stephens, and his top receivers in Terrell Anderson and Alex Taylor…Grimsley can also run the ball effectively with Mitchell Summers, DaCarion Maynard and Khalil Stimpson…Page must get key yards from QB Jerron Blackwell and RB Maurice Andrews on the ground…Paul Thompson can also give Page some pound-and-ground yardage from the RB spot…Having Blackwell at QB, takes away one of the Pirates’ top receivers…This game will supposed to be all about who has the tougher/better defense, but if the Grimsley offense gets going early on, it could be a very long night for Page…

Northwest Guilford(6-2/4-1) at Southeast Guilford(6-2/3-2)
This game has the current top quarterback in the county, in NWG’s Tanner Ballou…Ballou can connect with his top receivers in Trent Cloud, Bristol Carter and Prince Brown…NWG also has their TE, Hunter Greear, who is another receiving threat…Mike Godette is a top runner, and he leads the Vikings’ running crew…Ballou does not run the ball much, but when you are throwing for 7 TD’s in a game, like he did last week vs. Ragsdale, you don’t have to be a running QB, you are a throwing QB…If SEG can slow down the NWG passing game, and force NWG to go run-heavy, then SEG could be turning this game to the Falcons’ favor…The SEG defense will be on showcase in this contest, and it will be interesting to see how they play and cover the NWG receivers…If SEG is able to put added pressure on Tanner Ballou, the Falcons will be able to control the football game…This makes for a very interesting football game, especially with the overall improvement that SEG QB Bryson Serrano has shown this season…He can put the ball in the air, and he can let runners like Cam Williams run it, and catch it and run with it…We say it just about every week, and we say it with just about every game, “the better defense will win this game”…Defense can sometimes seem boring to the excited fans, but we have to remember, “Offense sells tickets, but Defense wins ballgames”…..
We will have this game for you tonight, on GreensboroSports Radio…Pregame at 6:45, and the Shift_ed Kickoff comes at 7:30pm…This is our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week, on GreensboroSports Radio…Don Moore will have our scoreboard, going on, with updates on all of your games…

Northern Guilford(3-5/1-4) at Western Guilford(0-8/0-5)
Northern Guilford still has an outside shot at the playoffs, but Western does not…NG needs this game to fulfill their hopes of a .500 season, and it all starts at QB for the Nighthawks…Alexander Marsh has been the man, and we have not heard any news about a return by QB Jack Mercer…It would also help the Nighthawks if they could get Vance Bolyard back…The loss of those two young men has led to added losses on the NG Nighthawks’ season record…Something about NG has just not been the same since Jack Mercer went out of the lineup with injury…With Mercer, you not only had a passer, you had a runner too…NG with kids like Tyler Mosca helping out on offense and on defense must step it up, and the WG game will make for a nice tuneup for NG facing the Grimsley Whirlies, to close out the regular season, next week…WG has to hope for NG maybe looking ahead to Grimsley, and then the Hornets can pounce on the possibilities of taking out the the ‘Hawks…Northern just has to get back to playing their brand of Northern Guilford Nighthawk football…WG is still looking to establish their branding…

Ragsdale(1-7/1-3) at Southwest Guilford(4-4/2-3)
Demetri Morrison will have this game for us on GreensboroSports Radio 2….Southwest Guilford has been on the road for what seems like about a month…At Northern Guilford, at Southeast Guilford, and at Grimsley, and now finally back home, at “The Ranch”….SWG is right now playing for their playoff lives…If the Cowboys can produce and process a win over their #1 Ragsdale, and then win at Northwest Guilford next week, SWG would enter the NCHSAA Playoff picture…SWG got an overall solid game from Corbin Wilson last week at Grimsley, and they need him to get rolling again this week….Lloyd and Hairston will also need to be on the ball for the C-boys in order for them to top the Tigers…Ragsdale needs to get that Devin Hackstall to Deshawn Cuyler connection going again….Two of the county’s top rivals going at it in High Point tonight….Demetri Morrison will have this game rolling for you on, GreensboroSports Radio 2….

Dudley(6-2/5-0) at Southern Guilford(5-3/4-1
The only thing Dudley will have to get used in this game will be field…It is a very nice field down there at the C.K. Siler Stadium, but it sits down in a bit of bottom land, and it may be very moist, once that heavy dew starts settling in, and Dudley may have to adjust to a slick track/turf/field…Other than that, Dudley will need to be ready for SG QB Jamias Ferere, RB Rydell Herbin, WR Conner Fields, and WR Jykari Manning…Those are the four that really get it done for you on offense for Southern Guilford, and I am sure Dudley already has all four of those names marked in their scouting reports…Eastern Guilford took away the running of Herbin in the second half of last week’s game vs. SG, and that made SG have to go to the air almost exclusively, and when you can do that, you can apply extra pressure on the QB and you also can lay back at DB, and wait on the pass to come your way…With Logan Wright up front to get the motor running for Dudley on defense, the Panthers have a very talented overall group of defenders…Hard to run against, hard to pass against…The Dudley offense has been threading the needle with Attmore II at QB, and his crew of receivers, including Nasir Newkirk, Cordell Bartley, and DJ Parker…This trio is as good as any you will see on the 3-A level…And did we mention the other problem that the Dudley Panthers pose for their opponents…Dudley can run the ball on offense too…When you are playing Dudley this time of year, you know the Conference gametime, well you better pray for rain, but there is no rain in the forecast for this evening…

Eastern Guilford(5-3/5-0) at Smith(2-6/2-3)
Smith has found themselves four very reliable offensive factors, and those would be QB Emmanuel Gilliam, RB Jeremy Royster, RB the freshman Rayshawn Wilson, and the do-everything receiver, CJ Neely…Those four can shut/close the door on you, but with the Eastern Guilford Wildcats, they might just have more favorable factors on offense than the Smith Golden Eagles do…EG has Tyreik Boyd at QB, RB Jaiden Evans, RB Jevon Cole, WR Steven Murray, WR Marcus Bynum, and WR Ryan Larkin…Four key members on offense for Smith, and six key members/performers on offense for Eastern Guilford…Jaiden Evans is a busload by himself, running at over 150 yards per game since he returned to the EG lineup earlier this month…Murray is right there in the same group of receivers from the county’s top pass grabbers, including Cloud(NWG), Taylor and Anderson from Grimsley, Neely from Smith, Newkirk, Bartley, and Parker from Dudley, and that is one elite group of receivers, and Murray from Eastern Guilford, only a sophomore, is right there with the best in the county…Watch for him, yes watch him closely, here in the last weeks of the regular season…Braxton Veiga and Solomon Howell, and there I have given the two names of the players that might be the difference in this game, and they are a big part of the Eastern Guilford defense, plus they will give you a few plays in the EG offensive backfield too…EG must avoid starting the game out slowly, like they did last week, vs. Southern Guilford…

Northeast Guilford(5-3/2-3) at Rockingham County(2-6/1-4))
For NEG, we feel like the difference-makers are QB Cameron Mitchell and WR Barry Tate on offense, plus Edrin Pitts and Deanthony Taylor on defense…You hang your hat on these four featured players for Northeast Guilford, and you should not got wrong, for long…This would be win #6 for NEG, and that would be a mini-miracle, after what NEG has been doing in recent seasons…Here is your chance NEG Rams…Show us what you will do with this Golden Opportunity….Are you going to go get Win Numero Six???

WS Atkins(1-6/0-5) at High Point Central(1-7/1-4)
This would and should be Win #2 on the year for HP Central….QB Cory Crump and RB Zion McCoy are the two key players that must get it done, in order for HP Central to get it done…Crump and McCoy need big games for the Bison to reach Win #2…

High Point Andrews(4-5/1-4)…OFF/Bye Week…Timothy Ratley Jr. and his Red Raiders have the week OFF…

High Point Christian Academy(3-5) at Southlake Christian Academy(0-8) 7pm
This is the night the HPCA Cougars get back in the Win Column…If not, it might not happen again in 2022…

Bishop McGuinness(1-7) at Winston-Salem Prep(2-5) 7pm
Have picked Bishop to win a few of these games lately, but will stay away this week, as Bishop McGuinness is also away/on the road…
