Former Northeast Guilford HS Baseball Coach Bob Boles gone at age 85

Robert E. Boles, 85, went home to be with The Lord on Monday, November 28, 2022.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro, with Rev. Larry E. Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal.

Robert was born in Forsyth County on September, 7, 1937 to the late Edward Edgar Boles and Rachel Coe Boles and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in McLeansville. He was a graduate of Walkertown High School, received his BS in Education from High Point College, his Masters from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University (A&T) and his Educational Specialist, Ed.S. from Appalachian State University. He was a member of Greensboro Youth Baseball and the North Carolina Principal’s Association. Robert was employed with Guilford County Schools for 35 years. He retired as Principal of Northwest Middle School. Robert was an avid golfer, loved the lake life, boating and water skiing. He cherished every memory he made with his family and friends at the lake house at Belews Lake. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Boles and Joseph Boles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Mary Parham Boles; daughters, Beverly Tucker (Larry) of Greensboro, NC and Jennifer Porter (Charles, III) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Leah Pruitt (Caleb), Charles Porter, IV (Thomas), Robert Porter (Emily), Stephen Porter and Rebecca Porter; great-grandchildren, Hadley Pruitt, Charlotte Porter, Evelyn Porter and Theodore Porter; and other extended family and friends.
