Vote for the Steak n Shake Players of the Year from the Weekly Winner names that you see below…We went ahead and settled Week Seventeen, by going with Terrell Anderson from Grimsley HS on offense, and with DeShaun Jones from Grimsley HS on defense…Look over the Weekly Winners and give us your choice for Players of the Year…Voting will run today thru Midnight on December 25, and we will take the Top Four Vote Getters in both categories, and take those four names to our Five-Person Selection Panel, and from there, we will name the Steak n Shake Players of the Year for 2022…Get your guy in the Top Four, and that will open the door, for the Finals…Each 2022 Winner, the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, they will receive a very nice plaque, an autographed football, and a Champions Cup…Some real nice gifts from Steak n Shake, Greensboro Trophy, and GreensboroSports.com….

We will also donate a dollar from every vote that comes in, to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro…Your vote will count toward one dollar, that will go directly to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, here at Christmas 2022…Time to get that vote in, and one vote per household please…But unlimited votes from your church, cathedral, or other place of worship, and load up the gang at work and get them voting…You can also do a write-in Vote for the Guilford County Kicker of Year, if you so desire…Just put the names you want to vote for, in the Comment Box below, or send your votes, picks, selections, or choices to andy@greensborosports.com….

  1. Stats don’t lie Summers. Got to go with a player from the team that went the furthest and went undefeated until the last game otherwise you are just another dime-a-dozen daddy baller

  4. Gotta go with Logan Wright on D. Numbers don’t lie, and he stepped up and took responsibility like a man in the newspaper article when Dudley lost to South Point. That’s what leaders do.

    On O, people may still be butthurt at Southeast about Ryan Stephens leaving (looking at you, wrestling coach), but he left because they were going with Serrano, who transferred in from Ragsdale, BTW. Stephens did it with his arm and his legs and did it even when he was sick in a huge playoff game. QB was supposed to be the question mark at Grimsley this year, and he helped them get to a state championship game.

    I’m sure there will be other opinions on POYs, but let’s be grateful for the chance to watch so many great kids ball out in Guilford County this year.

I’m Cameron Williams dad this is where my son kind of loses out because he plays everything not one position so he’s just like a hundred yard all purpose kind of guy , and put you to sleep on defense kind of guy , so he’s the best athlete but definitely Ryan Stevens is the player of the year in the area some games he played half the game and everyone he went up against that we are talking about he out played them so it’s pretty easy to me and it was the first time Ryan and Cameron wasn’t on the team since they were 6 years old .

    Not sure if they won before but two Best overall players can Williams and Bristol Carter.

  23. Wow, what an awesome outreach to the community and athletes. I have watched Logan Wright for 2 years and he is worthy of representing. A focused young man who is a team player and determined to give his best. He is consistent and follows the plays. Has great respect for the game. Go Logan!

  24. My vote is for Logan Wright. Not only is he an exceptional football player, his character on and off the field is to be commended as well.

  32. Logan Wright of course. He was a beast on the field but off the field he was never one to brag about his talent as a football player. To add to that he was no slouch in the classroom with a 4.0 gpa. So give him his due and watch him as he continues to strive for the best on and off the field. Love that Logan Wright.

    Every act of Logan’s football performances and his Team Captain leadership is purposeful. He is an outstanding role model for others to follow.
