UNCG Women’s Basketball Hosts Furman in Conference Home Opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s basketball team continues Southern Conference (SoCon) play hosting the Furman Paladins on Thursday with a start time of 7 p.m. for its league home opener at Fleming Gym.

The Spartans fell to the Samford Bulldogs, 66-76.
Akira Wiggins had a season high with 23 points to lead the game.
Wiggins, Khalis Cain, and Isys Grady all had eight rebounds to lead the team.
UNCG had 17 second-chance points compared to four that Samford had.
Faith Price(Ragsdale High School), Grady, and Nitzan Amar all had one block for the Spartans.
Both UNCG and Samford had 16 points off turnovers.
