UNCG Men’s Basketball Finishes Road Swing at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s basketball team faces Southern Conference (SoCon) foe The Citadel Bulldogs on Saturday, February 4 at McAlister Field House.

The Spartans defeated the Bulldogs last time out, 70-60, in Greensboro.

UNCG looks to defend its 5-0 SoCon road record.

The Bulldogs enter the contest 9-15 overall and 4-7 in SoCon play, while the Spartans are 15-9 overall record and 9-2 in conference play. UNCG remains in a three-way tie for first with Samford and Furman.

LAST TIME OUT
UNCG defeated Mercer, 69-49, in its first game away from Greensboro in 19 days.
This was the 10th win of the season by double figures.
Graduate student Mohammed Abdulsalam recorded his second double-double of the season, third of his career with a team high 15 points and 16 rebounds.
His 16 rebounds matched his career best.
Keondre Kennedy and Mikeal Brown-Jones each had 12 points, while Keyshaun Langley had 11 points.
Keyshaun and Kennedy each had six rebounds.
UNCG had 46 points in the paint compared to Mercer’s 18.

In the nation, Kobe Langley(Southwest Guilford High School) is 29th in steals (47), 36th in assist/turnover ratio (2.53), and 55th in steals per game (1.96).
His twin brother, Keyshaun Langley(Southwest Guilford High School) is also ranked in the nation: 33rd in three-point percentage (40.8), 59th in total three point field goals made (60), and 70th in steals (41).

· Head Coach Mike Jones earned his 200th career win as a head coach on Wednesday, January 4 with the win over Chattanooga at the Greensboro Coliseum.

· Kennedy scored his 1,000 career point during the first half in a 88-80 victory against Furman on Jan. 14 in Greenville, S.C.

· Keyshaun scored his 1,000 career point during the first half of a 62-50 win over VMI at the Greensboro Coliseum.
