High School Basketball Tonight NCHSAA Round One Playoff Winners with NWG girls in strong showing vs. WS Reynolds, plus More and More Scores(Mosbacher with 25 points to lead Northwest girls)[Thursday Round Two Games Posted]

Final from Northwest Guilford HS:
Northwest Guilford girls 60, WS Reynolds 50
NWG(21-7)/WS Reynolds(18-10)
End of First Quarter:NWG 20, WS Reynolds 10…Halftime:NWG 32, WS Reynolds 27…End of Third Quarter:NWG 44, WS Reynolds 33…Final:NWG 60, WS Reynolds 50
NWG Scoring:Maslyn Mosbacher with 25 points to lead the Northwest Guilford Vikings…Madison Young 8, Peyton Vernon 8, Kara Rumple 8, Kamryn Snyder 8, Bel Varadi 2, Sophia Apple 1
Reynolds Scoring:Abigail Rice 20 points, Raniya Hocutt 19, Destiny Thompson 8, Anne Overman 3
**********Maslyn Mosbacher for NWG, had a stretch where she hit 10 straight free throws, and she also had four 3’s in the ball game…Mosbacher was attacking, and Kamryn Snyder played the best game I have ever seen her play….She was hitting 2’s, even a three-point shot, plus she was rebounding, blocking shots, and doing a very good job in the post..

NWG gets 16 points in the post, when you combine Snyder and Peyton Vernon’s points…Mosbacher was attacking the basket and setting up here shots, and she, along with Madison Young, ran the offense up top, and they helped Northwest stay on top, this entire game..I don’t think Reynolds ever led in this game…

Reynolds hit a stretch in the second half when they were able to cut the Vikings’ lead to three points, and had a chance to get it down to two, but Northwest would not let Reynolds finish their run…Madison Young and Mosbacher took over out front, and with some more help coming from Kara Rumple, Northwest made that lead stick….

Raniya Hocutt, from Reynolds was strong inside, but she had sort of a hard shot, and some of her deuces, fell by the wayside, but Hocutt was a tough cookie inside for Reynolds in the second half, and she converted 7 of her free throw shots, so she did have a smooth shot, from the foul line….Abigail Ross was nice outside shooter for Reynolds, and she was able to get to the basket several times on her drives, but for the most part, Madison Young and Mosbacher were able to keep her from ever taking over this contest….Young playing some of her best defense of the season tonight…And another solid night on the boards, with the rebounding work turned in by Bel Varadi…She also very important on defense for the Lady Vikings…Bel always out there working hard…

Northwest Guilford, with a very nice team effort victory, in Game One for the Vikings, in the NCHSAA Playoffs….

More scores, more on the way in….
