GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team hosts Greensboro rival NC A&T on Tuesday, March 14 with a first pitch at 4 p.m. at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.

Scouting the Spartans

Nationally, the Spartans are eighth in double plays, 10th in sacrifice flies, 18th in double plays per game, 22nd in hits (177), 33rd in doubles (36), 36th in sacrifice bunts (8), 40th in batting average (0.308), 47th in runs (128), 54th in doubles per game (2.25).
Mitchell Smith is 32nd in the nation and second in the conference in doubles (7).
Kennedy Jones is ranked 50th in the nation and second in the conference in hits (25).
Jones is batting .373 (25-for-67) with 17 runs scored, 13 RBI, and two home runs.
He is one of seven Spartans batting over .300.
Zack Budzik is leading the team with a .407 batting average (22-for-54) and 16 RBI in 14 games played with four doubles and one triple.
In 23.1 innings pitched, Jay Miller leads the Spartan pitching staff with a 2.70 ERA, striking out 12 this season.
Rowan Watt has hit three home runs, while five Spartans have two home runs each, including Dallas Callahan, Mitchell Smith, Kennedy Jones, Dosi Jonas, and Caleb Cozart.
Smith leads the Spartans with 18 of the 115 RBIs.

Scouting the Aggies
This will be the first year the Aggies are in the CAA after being in the Big South for a year.
The Aggies went 15-38 overall and 3-21 in the Big South last year.
NC A&T is coming off taking the series 2-1 against Towson University gaining its first win in the CAA conference this past weekend.
The Aggies are 8-7 overall and 2-1 in CAA conference play so far this season.
NC A&T will play three power five teams, South Carolina, North Carolina, and NC State later this season.
NC A&T has 14 total double plays this season.
TJ Ash leads the Aggies with a batting average of .357 (20-for-56) in 15 games played, scoring 11 runs, with 12 RBI.
Canyon Brown has two of the seven home runs and is leading with 108 putouts for the Aggies.
Brown was a Big South All-Freshman Team selection in 2021.
Connor Blantz has an ERA of 4.15 to lead NC A&T pitching 17.1 innings.

Series History
The Spartans have a 46-10 advantage in the all-time series over the Aggies.
The two teams split the two-game series last year.
