New school, new team, brand new nickname….Brand new coach coming to Southeast Alamance High School…The new school will be ready in June, and the students will be arriving in from Hawfields Middle School, and some more are coming in from Southern Alamance HS, and from Eastern Alamance HS..
The new football coach of the Southeast Alamance High School Stallions is Tony Aguilar…Coach Aguilar is currently the head coach at Eastern Guilford, where he has been leading the EG Wildcats to the playoffs the past several seasons, and where he helped build and maintain a very strong Eastern Guilford High School football program…
The new Southeast Alamance High School will be a 2-A program its first couple of seasons, and then the Stallions will move up and be a 4-A team, along side of Southern Alamance, in Alamance County…Coach Aguilar sees SEA/Southeast Alamance becoming something like a 7-A team, if the NCHSAA realigns in that direction, of the 1-A thru the 7-A enlarged system….
Eastern Guilford will be looking for a new head coach, and there are several assistant coaches currently on staff at Eastern Guilford, who could be in line to get that head coaching spot for the EG Wildcats…Coach Aguilar said he would love to see some of the current EG assistant coaches join him at Southeast Alamance High School, but you just never know how that is going to work out…
The EG Wildcats were (9-5) overall last season, and finished in second place in the Mid-State 3-A Conference, with a record of (6-1)…Eastern Guilford made to the Fourth Round of the NCHSAA 3-A Playoffs, and they topped Parkwood 56-42, the ‘Cats defeated Erwin 62-42, then knocked off West Henderson 35-17, before falling to South Point, 28-25, in Round Four of the postseason…
Eastern Guilford was winning and playing all of those playoff games on the road last season, and EG excelled, and you might say the Wildcats overachieved under the leadership of their head coach, Tony Aguilar….
Two of the top players returning for EG next season will be WR/DB/Return Man Steven Murray, and last season’s backup QB Jackson Jones…EG loses their top QB from 2022, in Tyreik Boyd, their top RB in Jaiden Evans, and several top defenders including Braxton Veiga and Tavion Bullock…
We wish Coach Tony Aguilar the best, as he heads to the new school in Alamance County, Southeast Alamance…Not to be confused with Southern Alamance, or Southeast Guilford, from Guilford County….This is then new Southeast Alamance High School, home of the Stallions, and with their new coach Tony Aguilar, about ready to take the reins of the Stallions…..
Coach Aguilar always treated all of us great, and we hope things work out great for him, as he heads back into Alamance County…Coach Ag/Aguilar was the assistant football coach at Eastern Alamance, before he took over as the head coach, at Eastern Guilford High School…
