Greensboro falls to Lynchburg in mid-week game

High Point, NC – Senior Connor Morehouse (Kansas City. MO) and Freshman Evan Sykes (Graham, NC) combined for six hits on seven at-bats, but it was not enough as the Greensboro College Baseball team would fall to the University of Lynchburg at Truist Point Stadium by a final score of 13-3.

The Hornets took an early lead in the top of the second inning, but a Sykes triple drove in Sophomore Moses Lopez (Fort Lauderdale, FL) to tie the game at 1-1. Lynchburg would put together a rally to score 3 straight runs, however, once again, Sykes came to the plate and this time drove in Morehouse to trim the advantage to 4-2. After the Hornets added two more runs, Sykes would get another hit, doubling to center field in the sixth inning, allowing Lopez to cross the plate. Unfortunately, that is all the offense they could get as the Pride dropped the mid-week game to Lynchburg, 13-3.

Greensboro will return to action on Saturday, March 18th as they host Mary Baldwin for a weekend series at Truist Point Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
