Simmons named USA South Pitcher of the Week
Greensboro, NC – The USA South Athletic Conference has announced that Greensboro College’s Kassie Simmons has been named their Softball Pitcher of the Week. The senior from Gibsonville, North Carolina earned a 2-0 record in three appearances, two starts, last week for the Pride. In 15.0 innings, Simmons posted a 1.40 ERA, allowing four runs (three earned) on ten hits with ten walks and 17 strikeouts. Simmons’ first win of the week came Guilford as she six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with six walks and seven strikeouts. After a no-decision in a second game against Guilford where Simmons tossed two hitless innings with five strikeouts, she earned a complete-game victory over Ferrum, allowing one run on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
