Varsity Cowgirls Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Page to take over 3rd spot in the Conference

Southwest Guilford Varsity Cowgirls stole the lead late in the game in an 8-3 victory over Page on Friday. The game was tied at two with Southwest Guilford Varsity Cowgirls batting in the top of the sixth when Kayla Lowdermilk’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Southwest Guilford Varsity Cowgirls.

Page opened up scoring in the first inning. Kendyl Wright drove in one when Wright singled.

Miracle Kendrick earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Southwest Guilford Varsity Cowgirls. Kendrick lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out five.

Lowdermilk toed the rubber for Page. The righthander allowed three hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Emily Gilchrist threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Aniya Harris went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Southwest Guilford Varsity Cowgirls in hits.

Southwest Guilford collected seven hits, McFadden, Stewart, Stefanik, Roan and Wagoner collecting to hits for the Cowgirl’s in the win.
