UNCG Track & Field Stays in Greensboro to Compete at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s and women’s track & field teams stay local as they compete at the Aggie Invitational this Friday and Saturday, hosted by NC A&T at the Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex.

Women’s – Kaliyah Hargrove, Naomi Pridgen, Monique Clement, Madison McMasters, Chelsea Valdivia-Rizo, Laila Burk, Kaitlyn Harrison

Men’s – Elijah Jones, Zin Maung

Last Time Out

The Spartans totaled 14 personal bests, while there were 10 debuts in a specific event.
Freshman Reagan O’Quinn earned one of the Spartan women’s four top-25 finishes of the day. She placed 17th in the 800-meter run out of 21 competitors finishing with a time of 2:19.33
Chandler McCaslin finished 17th out of 132 competitors with a personal best mark of 4:42.08 in the 1500-meter run.
Graduate student Joe Thoma had two top-10 finishes, including a sixth-place mark out of 120 competitors in the 1500-meter run. He ran a time of 3:49.57. Thoma also competed in the 800-meter run, taking home an eighth-place finish with a personal best time of 1:53.64.
He earned SoCon Track Athlete of the Week with his performances.
Freshman Evan Pena was the final Spartan from the men’s side to earn a top-20 mark. Pena placed 20th with a time of 3:58.91 for a personal best.
